I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that there's somebody out there that doesn't know who John Wayne is. No hate, just baffled. #AmericanLegend Well maybe because not everyone is American and/or engrossed with Hollywood except until recently, ya know. He is literally unheard of in my part of the world. Didn't know he existed until I googled him 2 weeks ago so that's funny Plus I think his genre is very niche - Western right?
RochestrMonstr 3,197
We actually watched Stagecoach in my films class recently, in which he plays the "heartthrob" (he was good looking, it's just funny how different sex appeal standards were in the 1930's . If Stagecoach were made today, he would have been naked at some point in the film, with sex scenes etc). Before I saw Stagecoach, only ever knew of him from the episode of I Love Lucy where Lucy and Ethel steal his foot prints in cement from outside of Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Hey that's actually a funny episode...I may watch it on Hulu before bed lol.

I don't know where you guys are from but here in Canada (and USA...obviously) he is very well known and his films are often on tv. He is ''THE'' cowboy. maybe I'm too old. Killa 17,461
I think she's evoking classic elements of american culture with the cowboy thing, saying John Wayne the actor but she is also talking about the "Killer Clown", in a way serial killers are part of american culture. It's a great song title, imo
