Why are there no billboards and so few television perfomances?

Personally, I think it's going to be mild promo until 2017 and then they're going to knock it up a gear. The Superbowl is confirmed and she's rumoured (I've heard practically confirmed but shh) to be making an appearance at Glastonbury so it makes sense to delay heavy promotion until next year otherwise it will burn out before it's even begun.

If that isn't the plan, then I guess just general scaling back is another good reason as the songs (whilst good) don't sound like smash hits for the charts so might as well keep a lower budget.

Born This Way will be written in textbooks as an example of how albums should be promoted tbh and the sales/ chart positions it got in return was spectacular. Interscope went all out for that album and it paid off.

But, I don't think Joanne is the type of album that needs that type of promo. When Gaga is looking for commercial success which I'm guessing she will with LG6, she'll do that. But for this era, I think she just wants to make her Britney Jean / Ray of Light tbh. 

She just wants to ensure that critical acclaim that is undeniable. JOANNE is for that.

I think it's pretty clear by now that Gaga just simply doesn't want to promote the album anymore, she just want to put Joanne out in this world and what happens, happens

She's been approached and was considering it. She visited the festival with Marc and Kevin this year but wasn't able to join them on stage due to her meeting with the Dalai Lama. I've heard at this moment in time, she wants to do a proper set next year but a few things need to be worked out first. Also, she most likely won't be one of the main stage headliners unless the festival struggles to book other certain artists so expect her to headline one of the smaller stages if everything works out.
