Apparently someone on twitter shazamed the snippets and Dancin' In Circles was the only one it recognized.

can anyone confirm?

FAKE, just tried, it recognized all of them (well I only tested DIC, JW, JOANNE, DH, but most likely all of them will work)

If you wanna compare Gaga and Britney then keep in mind that Britney's fifth album, that came out about 8-9 years into her career, sent its lead single to the top 3 multiple weeks despite the worst press of any pop girl.

But that was a point in her career where she was literally everywhere. And none of the other singles from that album peaked within the top 15. And her previous lead single (which featured Madonna of all people) peaked at 35. They obviously have very different career trajectories but it's no secret that sometimes big name pop stars have less successful singles / album eras that will still be remembered for years to come. And it doesn't always mean it's the end of their career. So I think Gaga will be fine

I hate Million Reasons.

Which probably means it would slay the charts.

Oh, how I will hate if Million Reasons had a vid and Venus and Scheisse didn't.

I love Perfect Illusion (like a real lot) but who thought it was a radio friendly song? Don't expect to release a Kim Carnes meets Donna Summer meets Bruce Springsteen meets Tame Impala track and get a #1. It could've happened, but the GP didn't eat up the sound. That doesn't mean PI is not one of Gaga's best songs.

If she wants a #1, she shoudl release Dancin' In Circles but since I think DIC is one of the worst Joanne songs based on the snippets (not bad, just that the rest is A+ and DIC is A-), let her release Angel Down, Million Reasons or Diamond Heart

This is a biT messy. I wonder what their plan is. For a promo single MR is holding up well on iTunes so there's currently no reason to suggest that it will flop, but that doesn't mean it's not a risk either.

Oh, Gaga's single choices are always a bit of a mess (since BTW at least) :emma:

I'm still pressed we didn't get a video for either of those iconic single-worthy bops

I'm not surprised. It hasn't charted well at all. Personally, I think Interscope thought the song would smash given it was somewhat of a comeback single.

I do not want MR becoming the second single. It's a beautiful song, but it's not single material. Honestly, they should release the danciest, catchiest song on the album as the second single and promote it via TV performances etc. We don't know what song that is given the album itself is not out yet, but I have a feeling it's Dancing In Circles. I get that the sound of this album is 'different' in the sense that this sort of music isn't whats on radio right now. The album will go #1, but the singles won't chart well.

I love how this era is a complete mystery to everyone. Gaga got everyone scratching their heads.

It's almost like Gaga is doing the exact opposite of what the popular people on this forum want.

Loves it!

For Gaga standards? Definitely not.

But outside of that, it definitely didn't do awful. 15 is commendable, and it stayed on the charts for a few weeks. That's okay.

3 points in and ready for more

Yeah, Joanne is gonna flop big time y'all. But whatever. I don't love PI at all. I think it's a descent song but definitely her worst debut single from any album. The GP and fans do not like it.  I think the thing that sucks about all of this is, we'll have Joanne in a week, then who knows when is the next time we'll have new music from gagz. So many other pop artists come out with singles or albums every other year. Not gaga though... oh well.
