I had a time in middle school where I wanted to be called by my middle name. I don't see the big deal at all. But I also kinda get what Gaga is trying to do. This is the same Joanne who Gaga used a poem from her and put it on the booklet of her first album. That makes me not find it so cringy. Also she talked a lot about her during that MTV INSIDE THE OUSIDE performance, and she said the exact same things that she says now. Why does it matter? Because I would find all this cringy if this was coming from nowhere like... oh yeah, suddenly she starts talking about this and it is so important. It would look fake. But only with those two things (count also a third one: we all have seen multiple tour videos of her and the dancers praying before the show and saying JOANNE), you can tell that this is all coming from a very real and honest feeling. Well she changed it to the Countess during AHS too so I don't see what's the problem. As she said before, 'it's theater.' She likes to pretend to be characters or other people in order to fully immerse herself in her art. I mean, her aunt has been dead even before she was born, so it's a personal thing to her family, but her doing it is a little creepy? I don't know, out of place. I just find it weird to name an album after her. Yes, it's her middle name but she brings up her aunt every time she talks about the album and I don't know, it's like I don't really know what to think. I'm a fan of the music, so a lot of the things she says or does.. I just don't take them too serious. Most of her interviews are really interesting, especially the ones for Joanne because I've been listening to them, but I really just don't get her persona right now and it's a phase, so I'm just focused on the music for now.
