Brian Ryan 1,468
I love it. Some artists can't do it and make it sound good. Shoutout to my Honeymoon. No tea. No shade.

I know what I said. I stan those who can sing live as well as on the CD as in real life. Artist who have vision and pipes. NOT someone who just goes into the studio and given music to record. - Real music from the artist, and real talent. Are they not real talent or real music? No matter how good you are live, studio vocals should be mastered. It's the standard thing to do. Even the BEST vocalists of all time do it/ have done it (mariah, celine, whiney). Stop with the pretentiousness
djBuffoon 12,123
She sounds pretty phenomenal on both tracks we've heard so far. And with Mark Ronson at the helm, I expected as much. His work with most of his artists has a "you are there" feeling with the vocals and instrumentation.
Werk 13,166
I'm cool with the directions she's going but I really don't like how they sound almost acoustic tbqh like I'm not a huge fan of anything acoustic related

I'm talking about the VOCALS Um YEAH I read the OP. But you need to PRODUCE the vocals to make them sound a certain way. So the PRODUCTION of the songs incorporate more instrumentation thus affecting the sound of her voice since there's barely any reverb or alteration to her voice. Rocket Number 9 1,708
She's just showing her beautiful voice. I get sometimes filters do make some good songs (Paper Gangsta, SHICD) but her unfiltered voice sounds so damn good

People complain that Perfect Illusion is over produced at first and now it's "too raw." Anyone remember Dope ... Don't bring Dope into this. MR isn't even half as good as Dope. Dope manages to sound professional even with unfiltered vocals and like a Gaga song, MR sounds like the second live outtake of a recording session and like a scrapped 25 song. it wasn't laaaahv
REALITY 76,906
I think it's absolutely perfect actually. I love that it sounds live. It's true, authentic music. 𝔊𝔬𝔬𝔡𝔟𝔶𝔢, ℑ'𝔩𝔩 𝔰𝔢𝔢 𝔶𝔬𝔲 𝔦𝔫 𝔪𝔶 𝔡𝔯𝔢𝔞𝔪𝔰
androiduser 7,438
personally, I don't mind, she has a fantastic voice and it needs to be heard. I think the main reason why it took people so long to realize she's an amazing singer is because her studio recording have always been so processed and altered. That said, I hope there's not a lot of grunting, or whatever that sound is that she makes when she wants to sound rock.

Secondly, even rock/country artists filter their studio vocals. There's a difference between LIVE albums and STDUIO albums - no matter what type of music you make. Thirdly , I never said she was a rock/country artist, but you must admit that her music is falling more into that category, and she's starting to garner fans from listeners of those genres. And by filter, I mean heavy auto-tune, not effects like echo and reverb
