giskardsb 12,565
I've lost track now of how many times someone who isn't appreciating the Joanne era, or imagining a toned down Superbowl, has made some comment along the order of "she's pandering to the GP and the STRAIGHTS now", and says it as an insult. There are many straight Gaga fans here and pretty universally of the ones I know here we seem to much more willing to allow Gaga freedom to explore, so if some of you are trying that as some kind of insult I'll take it the same way as some hard core right winger thinking he's insulting me by calling me a liberal, or even some idiot "bro" who thinks calling me "gay" is some sort of insult. meanwhile, if you are looking for the definition of pop music "GP" some of you may just need to look in the mirror. Gaga is a universally acclaimed vocal talent capable of running in all genres. It's not a straight or gay thing, it's about love of music and what she has to say. Stop with the "pandering to the GP and straights" stuff. I feel like the biggest worry of some of the gay crowd here is that you are afraid that you are losing control of your favorite pop star doll (monster high (tm)) to play with. Sorry, you are going to have to share. /rant. and yes, this post is a bit "over the top" and "Heterophobia" was just chosen as a counterpoint to Homophobia just to get across that some of you really should think of the entire fanbase before you make snarky comments. swordstalker 1,829
I don't think most people are being serious when they say that . It's a joke, and maybe a bit overdone...

TopDomBoy 1,182
Straights always said Gaga was ****, so blame them. All monsters are human, you are a monster.
POP2 4,206
Straight people are so damn sensitive. Chill.
swordstalker 1,829
And even as a joke, it's not heterophobic. If anything it's homophobic as it pokes fun of the idea that all Gaga fans are gay and into electropop and any music that Gaga makes outside the electropop sphere is for straight people. The satire is meant to ridicule the idea of Gaga as a "gay" only artist.
Letmelivemylife 8,715
I love straight people!!!!!!! Lol I just can't be as touchy freely with them as I can be with my LGBT friends I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you
Cerny 4,270
I'm straight and I don't see the insult, and Gaga is like the "Gay queen", so I think the gay fans feel a little jealous and "betrayed" when they see their "Queen" "pandering" to us straights. I think that's pretty understandable.

I know it "sounds stupid" because it's a very rare situation. Straight people also don't have to deal with what the LGBT community goes through - and I am very caring towards what the LGBT community has to deal with from cruel unnaccepting people. GGD is the only time I've felt weird about being straight or like I shouldn't talk about it.
holy scheisse 22,288
all there is is homophobia. queer people are a minority group thats been oppressed in multiple societies for many years. the resentment for straight people usually manifests in individuals who suffered particularly traumatizing experiences due to their minority stress. heterophobia is not real. an aversion, avoidance, and disengagement with heteronormativity and heterosexual culture is an effect of homophobia. thank u
