Million Reasons sounds out of place right after Perfect Illusion

I just listened to Perfect Illusion, then Million Reasons straight after and it doesn't sound fluid? Has anyone else listened to these tracks together? Million Reasons is after Perfect Illusion on Joanne's tracklist and I feel like the high energy/adrenaline from PI is misplaced when played against Million Reasons? I dunno  I love both songs but the pairing is confusing.

EDIT: This is to do with the order of the track list :duck:

I noticed this too... Maybe she's going for a more story telling feel rather than what sounds better after the other?

She said PI wasnt indicative of Joanne so

I'm saying there isn't a moment to kind of bring down the energy slightly from Perfect Illusion. If I was to rate the energy of PI from 1-10, 10 being the highest... I'd give it an 11. Then Million Reasons plays straight after that track and it's like... what :duck:

YES, soundwise. But think of the album as a concept record. The first half she is desperately in love. Then she knows it wasn't love (PI). And then she has a ton of reasons to go and she only need one to stay (MR). In the context of the album's narrative it makes sense.

"Who are we, if not slaves to this torment?"

Well gaga said her label chose to lead with PI but it's gaga so :madge:

I think he means that it's weird how MR comes right after PI on the track list.

OT, I think it'll make sense when we hear the whole thing. After hearing A-Yo, it feels like it may be the same way having Joanne follow it, but then again this album is more storytelling/a collection of songs rather than a conceptual album...maybe she set the track list where each track is starkly juxtaposed to the ones that precede and come after it

I thought the exact same thing! The two tracks don't really sit well together...

Right? It doesn't feel cohesive.

You have it backwards huny. PI is the one that sounds out of place

Oh no, Dope somehow manages to sit perfectly well for me  you have the rush of MJH, that slowly fades and gives place to Dope. And as Dope finishes, you have Gypsy that starts slow as well but turns into a happy place. In fact, MJH-Dope-Gypsy is for me the best line up she has in all her albums.
