Firstly, im excited for the new album, i love the album cover and respect she is returning to her roots but.

 

All i wanna say is i am really not into this whole "call me Joanne" crap, like, no, you're stefani, not Joanne, like, this is a new album, stop giving it a stupid gimmick that is kinda disrespectful to your dead aunt, its turning the originality, creativity and tribute t her family into another gimmick that really dosnt make any sense.

You're not Joanne Gaga, you're you. 

Also last thing, i really don;t like the fact she has overly promoted and commercialised this whole small dive bar tour, lie, it would have been so much more organic and believable if she had just let fans know she was going on a dive tour but not letting the fans know, and not having it streamed live either, that way it would be fun for th fans and more mysterious and would be looked back on in years to come with so many memories of fans seeking out where she would have been ext.

Like the tag says, this is just my opinion and i am looking forward to the new era/album and hopefully seeing her on the next tour, but c'mon, considering the organic and stripped back nature of this new album, it seems pretty bastardised already.

As noted yesterday, there is more to "Call me Joanne" than meets the eye. I believe that's her way of saying the album is actually a self-titled release named "Lady Gaga".

Which makes sense, she has said the album is autobiographical.

Well, for the Joanne bit, I don't think we have the place to really say anything. We're not Gaga, we're not her father, we're not a part of her family, so who are we to say that the "Call me, Joanne" thing is over-the-top and rude. We'll never know the true impact Joanne's had on Gaga and her family, so we don't really have the right to say whether it's good or not. You can certainly have an opinion on it, that's for sure, but we shouldn't say that Gaga shouldn't do that or anything because we're not her nor are we her family.

Talking about the dive bar performances, she did say that she wanted to make the dive bar big and spectacular and almost as if you're at the Super Bowl when you're at the dive bar. She wants to make bars and clubs feel like arenas and arenas to feel like bars and clubs.

"Call me Joanne" is just a reference to what she said about living her life for her late aunt. It's a cheers to her legacy. No reason to look into it any more than that. Considering the person in question calls herself "Lady Gaga" I'm not sure why you're irked about her temporarily flipping the script on her birth name, lol.

And your complaint about the dive bar thing seems a bit too contrived in my opinion. You'd rather it not be streamed or announced? She obviously wants her fans to be plugged in, let alone in attendance. The purpose is to play these unplugged songs in an intimate, everyday setting, not to be authentic. That's your own projection I think.

I don't see any problem with it. Her full name is Stephani Joanne Angelina Germanotta. She said in a 2011 interview with Shahrukh Khan that she believes she is her Aunt Joanne's reincarnate. That belief may seem childish to others, but it's her business if she believes she is Joanne.
