giskardsb 12,565
Yes the Nashville performances may have had a *slightly* more "country" vibe than the album versions likely do, but to call this "Country" music is just not correct. It really throws back to the same "roots" that Country branched from. I hear some blues, I hear some southern soul, I hear some rock, I hear yes a *little* bit of country and folk especially in the Nashville performances. This is pop music with a roots music soul. Pop isn't defined by autotuned EDM, and just because music has acoustic guitar doesn't make it Country. what I'm hearing though, whatever genre you want to try to pin it as, is fantastic so far. I love that she introduced herself in Nashville as "Lady Gaga, a singer/songwriter from New York." Because that is her core, whether it's a simple piano performance or Paparazzi at the VMA's. AlexanderMagno 10,746
Let's wait for the whole album. But yes, so far it's definitely inside the Country genre. Country, just like rock or pop, has variant forms.
