when was the last time Gaga had a hit that didn't debut high in the charts? I see people say her singles grow but they haven't done that since 2011.

Applause grew here, DWUW had massive longevity, The Edge Of Glory grew here. Its just that she hasn't released much in the past 5 years single wise.

Applause debuted top 5, DWUW would've debuted high without the dumb chart rule and TEOG debuted at 6. Her hit singles didn't have to grow. I'm not saying they can't, they just don't have that history.

No they don't, they all always are pretty successful from the offset

Well in the last 5 years or so she always debuts high, but then they always grow and last in the charts for months endlessly eog was in our charts for a whole year and eventually peaked at 6 months after release. The debut only reflects gaga as a big artist that doent make it a hit the longevity makes it a hit.

Applause was bigger here in October than in August. It debuted at 5 because her fans were crazy. But it became a hit during October when it was still in the top 10 and radio played it and the public started to recognise and appreciate it. Chart numbers can be twisted but gaga singles have always had good longevity and become popular with the GP after a long while.

But they debuted high is my point, PI did not. So the idea of a Gaga song coming back from the dead is unprecedented.

The real reason Joanne will be polarizing? The time it took to come out, especially after ARTPOPs mixed release.

we will probably suffer the Prince effect of Gaga having her 1999/Purple Rain/Sign O The Times eras, followed by a decade of misses and occasional hits

well pi charted at 12 here that's high its almost a top 10. Its a hit. End of there's no limits to its success its early days but if it doesn't re peak then oh well its a hit anyway. And most of all I love it.

Did he manage to make a comeback?

Gaga Medicine

I'm so tired of some people saying that those who like the new music are just biased because "it's not the real Gaga", like we who like the new music are dumb enough to enjoy it just because it's Gaga. I find it so offensive tbh. Please, understand that some people can have an eclectic taste in music and actually enjoy this country sound as much as they enjoy Poker Face.

You could argue that his devoted fan base was the only reason he saw success through the 90s and 2000s.

but he never truly recovered back to those times. Some of his modern albums are good call backs but you can tell it was missing or trying too much
