I don't mind opinions on the song but some people are attacking her personally saying she's unauthentic and it's a flop or whatever. That's just plain rude and if she saw it she would be so disappointed, whether you like the music style or not she's clearly put her heart and soul into this music and I hate the fact that people on here don't even care about how it could make her feel.

We need to get out this mindset that saying a song or album is a flop is "attacking her personally."

I'm pretty conflicted. I'm not sure if I'm feeling the country.... but I love the fact that she's doing it.

It kind of is though, I mean this album obviously wasn't made to set the charts on fire so by focusing on that it kind of de-values her work

I agree.

If you don't like this new direction, and aren't prepared to even wait for the album to see if you enjoy it as a whole, and are just being salty and negative, then...

i agree. Also, Helxig, sorry I was rude to you....my delusional comment. My sincere apologies. In fact, I need to stop getting on here when I'm drunk before I go to bed, because, evidently I just vomit up whatever is running through my head. I never thought I was that antagonistic drunk...... BUT   YES I AM!!!!  So... call me out on it.

I genuinely love Million Reasons. And I mean genuinely. I like Perfect Illusion, as a starter; but it really is like someone smashing a bottle of "f you" over your head when you least expect it. I'm excited for the album.

Gaga isn't trying to change anyone's mind about anything. If you want to leave, leave. If you want to be a drag, be a drag. Gaga is as authentic as any of us.

I get it when people dislike a song or whatever, but when they stay here to bash her every single move it's annoying AF. If you dislike something so much, and your opinion isn't able to change anything, the best thing to do is leave.

I think she kinda changed the songs 'ayo and SP), to kinda stay in the same intimate vibe, and that they'll sound different on the album, otherwise she could've also just released the audio form ayo and SP... It was a bar and not an arena so i mean, i'm not gonna judge too fast, altho I really like Million Reasons <3 I mean, the songs also need to be brought on tour, I don't see country between a pokerface and a bad romance lol .

The songs on ARTPOP also sounded different when we first heard them on the iTunes festival, so maybe she kinda did the same here, to keep it still a bit of a suprise.

You open this thread and you are telling me "Gaga is just a musician, so you don't like her music leave and go after a different artist".

But I bet that, if I told you the same, you would tell me something like "Gaga is not just a musician! She has helped me through my life and so many struggles, I thank for for the strength she has given me through music and her performances and fight for a better world. She has always been there for us". And that makes you an hypocrite.

Gaga has never been just a singer. There's story behind her, story between her and her fans, a whole passion outside music. Most fans around here feel that, and that is one of the reasons they are staying here.

Maybe they don't like the new music. That's ok. Does that mean they should leave? No, it doesn't. Let's not pretend Gaga is just another singer that you can turn down if you don't enjoy the song. She is not, specially not for us fans. And if you can make pointless threads about how much you love her new song that lead to no discussion at all, those who don't like it have all the right to remain in this public forum and express their opinion about an artist and person they love. The problem is, when you read a negative opinion, instead of starting a healthy discussion (yes, it's possible, no one here is insulting Gaga, just saying they don't enjoy the music), you call them ignorants or open these threads (I'm not talking to you specifically, but in general).

I'm so sick of you denying the old Gaga like she never existed before. I can't wait for LG6 to be a Pop album, can't wait for you to deny Joanne era. I'm so sick of most of you

It's that hard to accept that it's ABSOLUTELY NATURAL not to like something? We got used to something and now we have to move on. It's not that simple, but I see it's so simple to deny her previous work.

More than anything I'm just upset that what we've heard so far is nothing that appeals to me whatsoever. The only thing I've liked so far were PI + the Just Another Day snippet, but if JAD is going to be sang with that country voice that's one less thing for me to enjoy from this era too :(

I just don't like country music. Whether it's an artist I love or hate (I can't even stand Beyoncé's 'Daddy Lessons' and I think Lemonade is the greatest album to be released this year so far) country is just not for me. I'm happy Gaga's happy, but I'm not going to pretend I like the music for her sake or anyone else's here.

I loved ARTPOP, and obviously TFM+BTW too. I'm disappointed because we got a pop album which was good (DWUW, Sex Dreams, Applause etc.) but was slightly below her usual quality (I don't need to expand here, so many people hated ARTPOP) with a messy era due to management issues and Gaga's depression, then we had a full blown jazz era with TV appearances, an album and a tour which helped Gaga enjoy music again so she was happy when she made her next pop album. Now we're left with this: a country album.

For the people who say Joanne is a pop album with country influences, remember that Born This Way is a pop album with rock influences. Born This Way ultimately is still a pop album. Aside from Perfect Illusion (which apparently sounds different to the rest of the album), the songs we've heard so far do not sound like pop songs. Even the performance last night, the voice she used was not a pop voice it was country.

My ultimate point is that disappointed fans are inevitable. When you wait 3 years for a new pop release after a good but not excellent album and a jazz album of COVERS (original content would have been wonderful but you can't have everything) and after the long wait you get country music, people who don't like country music have every right to voice their opinion as long as they are respectful. I'm not even going to discuss how she actually wants to be called Joanne now.

Hoping that she changes her sound up again for LG6. Gaga as an artist constantly changes, so one day I'm sure I'll be able to enjoy her without having to force it. Hopefully when the full album is out I'll find one or two songs I like.

This is important. Fans might not like what Gaga's doing this time but they will probably return next time when the music is more to their taste. Pushing them away/telling them to leave will stop them from feeling welcome to return.

Exactly. There's no need to act superior if you're enjoying the music so far. I wish I did enjoy it! It's just not for me and it's not for a lot of people and that's perfectly fine.
