Toph 375
I've been waiting for stuff like this from her for such a long time. I'm so happy it's finally happening...I like it better than most of her previous work so far. Just my taste in music. I've outgrown the dance pop scene to be honest, I much prefer real, raw vocals, deep meaningful lyrics....This new Gaga is so fresh. I'm in love. It almost reminds me of a song I would hear on Florence's album.
SlaeUrAnus 15,955
You guys are unbelievable. Just wait until you have grown up and you have a **** tonne of responsibilities. You will quickly forget how you use to fight with members on a forum dedicated to someone who you will probably never meet/know. As for telling people to "leave" just because they don't like the direction, please don't say that. It is incredibly rude and insulting for those who have been there since the beginning and have funded the projects that YOU enjoy. In my messy era. Creyk 17,805
If you can't take opposing opinions you are the one who should leave Go to reddit it's a big circle jerk there where only positive posts are visible
YeehawKylie 7,817
People don't realize country music takes many forms. Country rock, country pop, and so on. It is how Shania Twain and Taylor Swift became so popular. Gaga is still pop, it just has more of a country edge. I'd hardly call it full on country. It's nice to see her work become acoustic, actually. Million Reasons is Gaga at her best, even though some may not agree since it doesn't have synthesizers et all. Well I think it's time for some Monsters to start sucking it up and getting used to the fact this is a public forum, where people will voice their opinions no matter how many bash threads ya'll make about them. Yes it sucks that not all of us like the song, but in the same way you all love saying how much you love the song, there are going to be people who don't, and you can't blame them for making threads about their dislike for a song while you make your thread about your liking for it. It's two sides of the same coin, you can't just have threads about how amazing the song is, that lead to this cult site just becoming more so, but you also can't have just hate threads or this place will be ATRL. This elitist way of thinking that some people need to leave the fanbase purely because they have different tastes is tired. As if you were all the authority on what a "True Stan" is. Lol. And if I get dragged for saying this, so be it, but to go and make a thread about your opinion and then denounce someone else for theirs when they make a thread disagreeing with you is wrong no matter how you try to spin it. That being said I hope ya'll go on to make tons of threads about your love for the song, but stop making threads like these about the people who don't share your opinion. Nicely said. 👍

That's just a way of feeling superior for liking the sudden change. It's like having the rug pulled out from everyone, and then each of the people who are still left standing talks about how great their dexterity is. Pull that rug out one more time in a different direction and you'll see how many of these "change lovers" fall. I really feel that some people only support the idea of a change in musical direction if they like it. If this was acapella screamo mixed with yodeling, I highly doubt most of you would be into it. I'm really trying to word this in a way that isn't patronizing, because I don't want it to be. We haven't heard anything about the potential Moroder/Rodgers + RedOne funk album, since like the end of 2015, when she caught up with Mark Ronson. We've known that the album changed directions. RedOne said he was supposed to have his single out in February, and he didn't know what happened with his material. We've known Mark Ronson was the executive producer for a few months now, at the least (and it was speculated for almost a year). And we've also known about Kevin Parker, Hillary Lindsey, Father John Misty, BloodPop, and Beck's involvement for at least 3 months now. Every Gaga album we learn who the producers are ahead of time. With ARTPOP, she was working with DJ White Shadow, Zedd, and Madeon. And so, in 2012, I looked up all of their music. It was off-putting at first but the hard EDM/Trap sound really grew on me, and by the time their work with Gaga came out I knew what to expect. The same with this album. I started getting into Amy Winehouse's music once Ronson came on board. I looked into Father John Misty's latest album, which is very folk/acoustic. I looked into Hillary Lindsey's hit singles, which are all country pop. I learned what this album would sound like. There is no rug being pulled out from under you. It's more like you closed your eyes in front of an oncoming train, and then you were shocked when it hit you. A lot of us have seen this change coming for years now. The melody and the way she sings it and the Christianity lyrics. I like parts of it, but I can't get through the whole song. Giving me a million reasons, about a million reasons giving me a million reasons... I do like that part, but I don't like the rest of the song. The melody line of the verses doesn't work for me. And most of you will grow older and learn to appreciate musical styles that deviate from the club sounds you have come to identify yourselves with. Trust me. I've been there, too. But when it hits, you will realize that Lady Gaga was the one artist who was there with you through it all. Or maybe some of us have already grown up and appreciate/mainly listen to other music styles and Gaga is just putting out subpar music we aren't happy with? Can't wait for your epileptic fit when her next 180 degree musical flip isn't something you enjoy and you can't use change as an excuse to pride yourself/ostracize others Why are people so decided that she's crossing over to country? She's not. It's still pop music. Gaga has said in many interviews this era that it's still pop music. Yes, it does have country influences, but honestly, when I heard her say that it was going to have country influences, I was expecting more country than what she gave us. Million Reasons is really the only one that has any sort of country vibes. A-Yo sounds more pop/rock/maybe country and Sinner's Prayer sounds sort of like rock to me. Yeah, they have some country vibes, but it's not like she's making a complete 180 to country music. This album's still pop. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
Born Brave 2,072
I agree so much with the OP. Why stay here and just dwell on the past? Isn't it clear now? Doesn't this all make sense? Gaga is not going to ever be TFM Gaga again. She's a constantly evolving work of art in her own right.

Born Brave 2,072
PS I can't with people calling COUNTRY the most hated genre in the world. It's clearly not. The best selling female artists of all time are all COUNTRY singers. Reba Mcentire, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain (who blended pop and rock and country like Picasso blended colors) Taylor Swift (who sold out and went pop). The true vocal talent is in country music. there is no autotuned lipsyncing extravaganza. I grew up and still live 2 hours away from Nashville. Music City. We appreciate all genres. It's a Tennessee thing. But DO NOT ever disrespect country music.

Or maybe we feel as if Gaga isn't delivering music that is on par with her potential and capabilities? It's not a matter of her working in different genres other than EDM/dance-pop. That's not even what I (and plenty of others I'm sure) even listen to. I was excited for a stripped back personal singer-songwriter era but so far Gaga just isn't delivering. I'lI stick with Sharon Van Etten while she goes back to school and keep my ears perched for a new Lana Del Rey and Fiona Apple record.
