All she said was that she needs to get ready and prepared for the SB—which is something anyone who's doing the SB needs to do. She wants to push the envelope in terms of her singing abilities, that has no correlation with her just at the piano or playing the guitar for entirety of the time she has to perform. Plus, she's Lady Gaga. Even on "PI" yesterday, the song kept changing progressions with each passing verse and chorus. However, when she plays with a band (nearly every performance of "You and I", Stevie Wonder/Sting tributes) it forces her to keep the focus on both the chords and her voice, which serves her much better.
