For example, just because Gaga was a bit off during her PI acoustic performance on a radio interview, many here were saying "Gaga lost it", and "Gaga is losing her voice". But the reality is that everyone, including Gaga, have bad/off moments when they sing. This doesn't necessarily mean that her talent is suddenly gone for doing one bad performance (it wasn't even that bad). Another example, comes from the same interview today when she was talking about what she was going to do in the Superbowl Halftime Show. Gaga basically said that she was going to push the envelope with her talents and creativity, and that she was going to cater to the NFL fans. But many here took this statement as, "Gaga will basically have a full rock performance and she won't do anything crazy or "Gaga". But the reality in this statement is that Gaga will showcase her spectacle (the creative part in her statement), her vocal and instrumental talents (obvious from the statement), and will try to at least abide by the NFL rules as much as she can, or in other words be family friendly to an extent (her catering to the NFL fans). She literally said "you want to push the envelope in terms of your creativity and your music and taking the show to the next level, but I don't know if it's the place to push the envelope in other ways" and people just took the last bit and where like "OMG SHE ISN'T GOING TO PUSH THE ENVELOPE AT ALL, SHE JUST WANTS TO DO A BORING SHOW WTF??????" It's like people are just waiting to meltdown. The halftime show is a family friendly show. Gaga said she wants to push herself creatively and take the show to the next level, but she echoes what Madonna, Beyonce and Katy Perry said when they where chosen to be halftime performers when she reiterates that it will be family friendly. Gaga isn't going to go out there at the Superbowl halftime show covered in blood, dress in bondage inspired gear, hump R.Kelly or ride a mechanical bull while getting thrown up on. Not only would that be a terrible idea for what is supposed to be a family friendly show, but the NFL wouldn't allow that. She isn't going to push the envelope like that and she wouldn't be able to push the envelope like that. I do think that a lot of users here will hate the Superbowl show, but only because I feel like Gaga wouldn't be able to do anything to cater to those users, there is no way to please them. There are users who think the performance is bad, but only by her own standards. There are users who think catering to the NFL audience is smart. There are users who think catering to the NFL audience makes her a sell out. There are users who are ambivalent or unsure about her catering to the NFL audience. Than there are users who constantly create threads in order to discuss how discussions are being discussed. It's only the latter that I find annoying. Can you start a thread about that Enigma?
