I dont think inflation from higher oil prices is the best form of inflation would be better if it was inflation from more product/service demand or stronger wage growth Inflation that only comes from higher cost of business rather than increased economic activity is very iffy because while it may discourage money hoarding, it does absolutely nothing for company earnings (besides oil companies) nor does it do anything for wages so its only stealing purchasig power from people Inflation coming from higher oil only is 50-50 to me. At best the benefits compensate the negatives Of course setting inflation aside... The US Shale sector would benefit from this so there wpuld be some ecobomic gains from that!
