I don't know...the Republican party—as well as the Democrats, but the Republicans were affected much more—has really been tarnished by Trump and his ideologies. He's split the party in two, and now we see what Republicans really want. 

Plus, as the years go on, society progresses (hopefully it will). With social issues becoming much more prominent, especially in the election and through younger voters, the Democrats really have the victory there.

First of all, I'm feeling that tension with a lot of the replies to this comment so you can rest assured that I'm not coming for you.

There was a large amount of Bernie supporters who wanted to still vote for her even though she was the nominee. 3rd party votes (votes for someone other than the two front runners) is dangerous because they have the power to swing the election in the opposite direction. If 50m people vote for Trump, and 20m vote for Bernie, and 31m vote for Hillary, Trump would have won the election. Bernie knows this so he's trying to allocate his votes to Hillary to secure a democratic president. It's better than Trump. 

It looks like a sellout, but it's just for the good of the country.

I doubt there will ever be another Republican candidate that can excite the base like Donald Trump has. Ted Cruz? Mike Huckabee? Nikki Haley? JEB BUSH?

Won't happen. What will happen is that people will be ready for a Republican. History shows us that twelve years of either one of the parties means that the tide will rise against that party and people will switch to the other one.

(especially if the GOP retains control of the Senate) What she will do is put up moderate to liberal SCJs and maybe get one or two ideas in motion. (which is also what would have happened with Bernie.)

I think they need a younger, fresh candidate. One that's a bit more moderate but with high energy like Trump.

As long as she tries her very best to get her plans thru, I'll be satisfied. I know the electorate is stupid enough to elect conservatives and there's not much she can do about that but I want her try her best to get her campaign promises thru. Hopefully, we can take the senate. 

Hopefully Hillary will de a good job in her first term and she can fight off a republican challenger. I see ur point tho. It's disturbing to think a conservative could be president. It's a shame our country could do something so awful.

It wasn't selling out. Bernie is a grown up, with years of experience and knowledge. He's experienced enough to know that progress is about compromise and he was wise enough to know a rare opportunity was presenting itself.

He won't bring out all the alt right, racists idiots, like Trump has done. Ryan will be a much more acceptable option for typical and moderate Republicans. He will have the full force of Republicans stumping for him and conservative papers, etc. endorsing him. Plus, the Independents that lean Republican and even some more conservative Democrats. (Especially if Hillary is too liberal for them)

1. He lost the popular vote by around 3 million votes

2. He had less pledged delegates AND super delegates

3. He failed to get a lot of minority voters on his side 

He lost. Why can't people get over it? Was the DNC biased? Yes, but you can't say he lost SOLELY because the primaries were "rigged"

So... You can't explain how you are helping the progressive movement?

Bernie just negotiated one of the most progressive platforms The Democratic Party has ever seen, he is still fighting to make a transformation happen within the Democratic Party. Under a Hillary Clinton presidency he can continue to pressure her to move left and can continue to work with her towards progressive goals.

You want change to happen with a snap of your finger but that's not how it works. Progress is slow, it's sometimes painful. Bernie has stuck by his word and continued to work for progressive change using the hand he was given. 

It's people like Bernie who are continuing to push the party left, it's people like Bernie who are actually working to get things done, it's people like Bernie who are fighting the hard fight.

His other option was to disown Hillary Clinton, essentially get kicked out of the Democratic Party, allow Trump to win and make the progressive fight 100X harder. That helps nobody, it doesn't help you, it doesn't help the progressive movement. You just help crush any momentum people like Bernie have built and are continuing to build.

If f Bernie was a sellout, he would have made this all about him. He would have refused to endorse Hillary Clinton, he would have done nothing to prevent a Trump presidency and he would have been unable to make any sort of change within the Democratic party.

He's not gonna transform the democratic party by selling out to them and supporting every idiotic move Hillary makes, he's supporting the crooked party that had the biggest hand in him losing the nomination and I don't see Hillary beating Trump. She's just too awful and Bernie supporting her doesn't make some of us want to vote for her. It honestly kills any shred of faith I had left in our shoddy illusion of a democracy. The whole system is simply screwed up.
