Please don't get me wrong, my posts make me seem like an extremist but I'm really not. I believe in human redemption and people finding their own path to the light. I don't condone murder no matter what the person has done. That's why I said I'm torn on this issue. :|

Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

1. What are you even on about. When the killings began, the addicts can surrender themselves to their respective barangay halls to get treatment. Believe it or not, free rehab centers are a thing here. These people have a choice to better themselves.

I really hope they can before a random ass man on a motorcycle kills them lol

2. Also, I think you're not taking into consideration some facts stated by other members in this thread.

Facts? Where? All that I have read are opinions - that killing these drug dealers (oh honey not even the big players, no - the poor people, the people who must have no choice but to cling on to drugs to live a barely decent life) are the only way to solve the drug issues in the Philippines. Is that a fact?

3. Most of the killings aren't done by the government, they're done by the druglords who are afraid that their customers and underlings would rat them out.

Really? Then what is Duterte and his police so proud of? Aren't they saying that the Philippines streets are now a lot safer since they have eradicated (re: killed) the dangerous drug abusers? Also - why do you think these druglords now have the balls to kill people? Because the president and his police are encouraging it. It is their campaign - and these

4. Also, extrajudicial killings have been a thing (unfortunately), since Corazon Aquino's rule which makes it quite ironic that she's hailed as the mother of democracy and human rights of the Philippines. Yes, Duterte's statements are crass but he isn't harming innocents nor political enemies (which the past administrations did without batting an eye). He's harming anyone advocating drug abuse. I'm not saying this is ideal but you have to pick from two evils.

Extrajudicial killing existing way before the Duterte administration IS NOT an argument against the fact that NO ONE SHOULD BE GUNNED DOWN, KILLED, WITHOUT DUE PROCESS. It doesn't make it okay. It's stupid reasoning. And is he (and his campaign) really just harming the people who are advocating drug abuse? There are multiple reports of people who have no drug connections (some of them promising young people!) being murdered because they were falsely accused! You are not choosing between two evils - you are choosing a path that is dangerous, and has been proven to not work! Even Thailand can attest to that

5. Your post really rubs me the wrong way. Do you even live here? You can certainly put your point across without insulting my country and my people.

6. If you're a Filipino, I think you can agree that our economy have been steadily on the rise and things are getting slightly better.

'Rising'?? Honey 👏🏽 where👏🏽 The exchange rate has been continuously declining! It's been on it's lowest in 7 years? So asan yung 'things are slightly getting better'?

7. If you aren't, get your head out of your ass and stop spewing stupidity on things you know nothing about.

I know what I'm talking about so imma leave that head in that ass :reductive: Plus what I said wasn't even stupid, even if I didn't know anything about the Philippines :awkney:

8. I am apathetic, I agree and I guess I'm sorry for that (?)

You should be, definitely. But what's dangerous is that you are apathetic - you don't care about anything - yet you support a campaign that promotes the disregard of the law, and vicious and unnecessary violence, something that does not better the life in the Philippines. Who will we then hold accountable if everything backfires? People like you, who don't care and are just mindlessly supporting this attack on human rights?

7. But I in no means 'failed to think'. I'm the most logical person you will ever meet and bro, there's a lot of us here.

Proclaiming that you are 'the most logical person [I will] ever meet' is rarely an indication that you really are the most logical person I'll ever meet, but meh. Not after what you said on #4 :sharon:

I humbly agree to everyone stated in this.

Exchange rate for Peso against Dollars has been the highest for years. Traffic and corruption is not even half resolved and it has been three months (he claims to solve everything in three to six months, take note). He has been so fixated with this drug issue. Human rights violations, as been said by people here, is rampant due to innocent people killings and lack of due process.Yes, the government do not do these killings, but Duterte's influence does this and he relatively doesn't give a ****. The international academe is worried for the Philippines, more worried than 'Duterteists' themselves.

I think you should know about project "Tokhang" :nails:

A door-to-door "reminder" and explanation of the new law isn't doing anything about mental health or in fixing the underlying issue though, unless they regularly see vulnerable people to document and oversee their progress.

Drug rehab is difficult to correct in one person. I highly doubt entire communities will be corrected by this. Better than nothing I suppose.

Atleast he's doing something about drugs in our country. What did Noynoy do in his term? lol

Claim Gloria's laying of economic foundations as his administration's work. :nails:

Well at least his policies maintained the growth. Last I heard about digong, peso was the weakest in 7 years

Gurl in war, i do believe that there are blood on both sides. The current war against drugs is so efficient that it is even the DRUG LORDS who commands to kill their distributors. Caught ur attention? Now let me explain to you:

So why do i think that drug lords are now killing their own constituents? It is because they are afraid that if the distributors and high profile addicts are going to surrender, they are going to tell the officials who are their co-distributors and then in the end pointing-out the drug lords.

The drug lords are not going to quit without a fight and i think they are the ones behind the murders reported in TV (horrifying murders, body thrown in the river, bodies cramped into a barrel etc etc) who are tagged as 'drug pushers' (while their corpse are dumped, they wear posters saying "I am a drug pusher, don't imitate me (Drug pusher ako wag tularan)). Do you also think that the police has time to plan-out this brutality? If u think that the Davao Death Squad is behind this, why would he need them if the president has the entire military power in his hands? As a result, when the media sees these murders, and the people see the reports, the people (even some of the media, but not all) are going to point it out towards the current campaign against drugs and ultimately towards Duterte.

The drug lords are now hitting 2 birds with one stone, kill their distributors in order to avoid the risk of being reported to the officials and use these killings in order to paint out the president as a mass murderer.

Even different media outlets here in the Philippines sometimes have contradicting reports when it comes to news about the President. If people are just very observant and vigilant, they will see these contradicting reports and raise questions about the reliability of Philippine media. I'm quite very sad to admit that these reports are now bearing foul fruit to the heads of some Filipinos, they only see what are laid in front of them without even knowing what truly is happening behind all these reports and news.

I hope people in this thread will be respectful.

i think in other cases drug market competition are into the some of the killings, it would really be unfair for him to blame to all of the killings. Extrajudicial killings were already present during the last President and President Noy Noy Aquino was obviously the primary suspect of the Mamasapano Masacre tho.

I understand that, but it would have better if he hasn't promised to kill drug lords and he put someone in charge of the investigations of the extra-judicial killings (or just make a serious matter). It's a serious security issue.
