The producer oversaw the recording of her fifth record Joanne was impressed by the singer from the off."She blew my mind right away with the potential of the stuff we were working on."I really think it's definitely one of the best albums, song for song, I've ever been a part of."

He also dropped a hint about extra tracks, which may not make it onto this album."There were definitely cool ideas and stuff left over, and maybe I'll get to use a couple for my next record."We wrote way more than we needed to for the record and there's stuff that she'll get to use I'm sure down the line for whatever that is."

"We were camped out in the studio in Malibu where [Bob] Dylan and his band worked in the 70s, it's now Rick Rubin's studio."Beck showed up one day, they [Lady Gaga and Beck] wrote this great hook together."Father John Misty came and stayed for a few days and Kevin [Parker] came in from Australia."It was like this family of rotating cast members.

Speaking about Lady Gaga's duet with Florence Welch, he added: "Recording her vocal and watching them write that song together really didn't feel much like work."It really was a pretty wonderful experience."

The producer said Gaga is a perfectionist in the studio and the recording process and that eventually he had to ask her to stop adding to the album."We were supposed to master on a Friday - that's the final phase when they literally press up the CD and there's nothing more you can do it."She was running back to the studio to change a harmony on one song."We were doing full on band sessions on bonus tracks the morning that we were supposed to be handing the record in."It was pretty much down to the wire but I like that idea."Until it's very, very, very much done why would you not keep trying to make it better?"

I'm glad we didn't hear the songs before the album. This would be another iTunes disaster.

Hard to believe when PI is the first single :green:

I know everyone is saying it's going to be her best album but I'm gonna have to wait till I hear it before I believe it

Daredevil

I love ARTPOP, but Gaga actually made some songs worse, compared to the demo versions (*cough* Aura *cough*). I hope that doesn't happen this time
