The Surrealist 27,470
In Greek mythology, Maenads were the female followers of Dionysus and the most significant members of theThiasus, the god's retinue. Their name literally translates as "raving ones." Maenads were known as Bassarids, in Roman mythology after the penchant of the equivalent Roman god, Bacchus, to wear a bassaris or fox-skin. Often the maenads were portrayed as inspired by Dionysus into a state of ecstatic frenzy through a combination of dancing and intoxication. During these rites, the maenads would dress in fawn skins and carry a thyrsus, a long stick wrapped in ivy or vine leaves and tipped with a pine cone. They would weave ivy-wreaths around their heads or wear a bull helmet in honor of their god, and often handle or wear snakes. I mean look at how she looks like next episode. They may have been a branch of the larger Roanoke people or allied with them."

hELXIG 42,954
I think she's related to Priscilla! Or at least similar. Priscilla is half Native American, half European settler, and was outcast because of it. I think Gaga's character is half Native American, half white folk I say this because everything about her says Native American witch doctor to me. In the picture you posted above she had just scalped someone! Native Americans are known for scalping. And in real life the settlers colony of Roanoke were in contact with the Croatoan Indian tribe. Also, in season one of AHS they have flashbacks to the Roanoke tribe and the Native Americans were there too! The reason I think she's half white is because Gaga could never pull of being full Native American that'd be like blackface... and also Priscilla is described as being half of each. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
