Gaga's not a fake persona, though. It was simply just a way for her to be more confident with who she was. Gaga's not an "alter ego", nor is she something that was completely made up by Stefani. Stefani is Gaga and Gaga is Stefani. 

I don't think that rebranding herself to Stefani would be the best decision either. She's made a name for herself as Lady Gaga, and it's basically a house-hold name. Even if she isn't as popular as she was back then, you know who Gaga is, branding would only make things confusing and it would seem like everything she's done up until this point has been pointless. 

I do agree though that we are going to be able to see more "Stefani" in Gaga. Joanne's definitely going to be more personal than her other albums.

Of course Lady Gaga is kind of a character, but only her can play it, with this album Joanne (remember Joanne is her name too) she will be more "natural" see the music is a new direction from her, still being Lady Gaga, cause is what she loves to be, but on a more personal level, Lady GAGA will be back on the future too...

 

Just imagine on Joanne tour... a whole set being LADY GAGA talking about this "charcter" side, with wigs, make up and the old Gaga styling...people would go crazy.

Nooo she's Gaga, she was still called LG throughout C2C, the oscars performances, on AHS... why would she just drop it now? I think if it was going to happen she would of done it by now.

It's not. It's her! She was as genuine in Marry The Night / Bloody Mary, as she is now in Perfect Illusion. She sang jazz as Lady Gaga, she acted as Lady Gaga, she's done charity work and The Born This Way Foundation as Lady Gaga.

She is being herself, think of it more like a nickname, not a character. She said that even close people call her Gaga.

Are you guys dumb? Lady Gaga is her stage name. She uses it because it sounds infinitely better than Stefani Germanotta. It's not some character she can discard when she "grows out of it" (and trust me she hasn't).
