Where have you been the past year? The RNC demonized him as a liberal loon and evil socialist, while the DNC plotted to use his faith against him, and Hillary stooped so low as to suggest he was responsible for the Sandy Hook massacre. He has been put through the ringer by both political parties, and has certainly faced criticism by the media, and in spite of that is still incredibly popular.

No he hasn't. During the primaries he essentially got a free ride. Hilary didn't want to turnoff his supporters, the media didn't take him seriously, and republicans actually tried to help him by running ads against Hillary and praised him. 

And of course the Dem primaries are much more liberal that the GE. Voters in the GE dont know much about him. Everything he did in his past and his policy proposals would be scrutinized and voter would find out how far left he is. Even Democrats woudl refuse to run with him and some would oppose him because they wouldn't want to support a socialist and they wouldn't want the Dem party thought of as being socialist.

She didn't want to turn off his supporters so she accused him of being responsible for the mass murder of twenty children, implied he was sexist, and dismissed his policy's as fanciful dreams.

Right, thats criticizing him from the left to try to appeal to his supporters. There's  all kinds of issues (spending, raising taxes, socialism, honeymooning in communist Russia, praising Castro and Cuba, etc etc...) he can be attacked from the center and the right from which Hillary avoided doing but Republicans definitely wouldn't.

And Republicans basically ignored him during the primaries while they attacked Hillary constantly. They'd love to run against him. I can link you to ads run by Republicans that are fake pro Bernie and negative against Hillary. Republicans literally tried to help him win.

If you think the little he got in the liberal Dem primaries is anything you have no idea how different that is compared to the GE. Like I said he'd be scrutinized in detail by the media, attacked viciously by the Republican party, and have millions and millions of dollars negative ads dumped on him. What do you think his popularity numbers would be then?
