SamJ 8,008
So as we all know as GaGa fans we are used to GaGa ruling the charts and getting number 1 debuting lead singles. But this is extremely difficult to pull off and doesn't really mean that much. At the end of the day a hit is a hit. The public aren't bothered whether a song peaked at number 6 or number 18 if its well known and makes an impact in real life then its a hit. I thought I'd make this thread just to put things into perspective and to show that things are going well for Lady Gaga in comparison to other big female pop stars. Adele: Hello (2015) UK #1 US #1 Katy Perry: Roar (2013) UK #1 US #1 Rihanna: Work (2016) UK #2 US #1 Taylor Swift: Shake It Off (2014) UK #2 US #1 Selena Gomez: Good For You (2015) UK #23 US #5 Demi Lovato: Cool For The Summer (2015): UK #7 US #11 Lady GaGa: Perfect Illusion (2016): UK #12 US #15 Ariana Grandé: Dangerous Woman (2016): UK #17 US #8 Nelly Furtado: Big Hoops (2012): UK #14 US N/A Beyonce: Formation (2016): UK #31 US #10 Mariah Carey: Beautiful (2013): UK #22 US #15 Britney Spears: Make Me (2016): UK #42 US #17 Christina Aguilera: Your Body (2012): UK #16 US #34 Nicki Minaj: Pills N Potions (2014): UK #31 US #24 Fergie: Milf$ (2016): UK #56 US #34 Iggy Azalea: Team (2016): UK #62 US #42 Gwen Stefani: Make Me Like You (2016): UK #140 US #54 Lana Del Rey: High By The Beach (2015): UK #60 US #51 Madonna: Living For Love (2015): UK #26 US N/A Demi Lovato: Body Say (2016): UK #188 US #84 Miley Cyrus: BB Talk (2015) UK N/A US N/A so its clear that commercial wise GaGa is doing better than most other big female names! River 106,466
She's going by the Beyonce and Madonna formula and it's working very well for them.. When you don't care about the charts and focusing the promo only on the tour and on interviews, you spend less and gain more.. It's costs less to go to a radio station in the UK than to perform in a talk show for example.. tickets and accommodations for the team it's cheaper than to pay for the dancers, the band, make up, clothes for her and the dancers and so on.. SEANGT 4,964
Living for love was amazing. It's my #5 most played song in my library. I'm not even a Madonna fan really. I was just obsessed with that song lol. I can't believe it didn't even chart

Fiona Apple 13,006
Many of them aren't even lead singles..And let's be honest every other relevant popgirl is doing better than Gaga singles-wise atm. Beyonce,Katy,Rihanna,Taylor,Adele,Miley(BB talk wasn't a single,it isn't even on iTunes),Demi (Body say isn't a lead either),Selena,Ariana etc. Most girls on the list are now irrelevant (Fergie,Mariah,Gwen,Madonna etc.) The fact that PI is doing only slightly better than Make Me is bad news for Gaga
