freebit 6,240
This is like comparing a Debbie Harry disco/rock track against Mariah Carey. PI's vocals aren't supposed to be smooth or pretty. You should feel jarred, as well as feel the rage being conveyed. I would expect a feminist website to at least offer an interesting viewpoint and analysis of a track like PI other than a lame "she hasn't got the range" twitter meme and a "basically she's not singing like Ariana Grande here, so therefore this is bad." That is so incredibly...basic. PI brings to mind Debbie Harry, Nina Hagen, Janis Joplin, the Runaways, Hole and the other women musicians from the Riot Grrl movement screaming their hearts out. You would think a website devoted to women would delve a little deeper even if they don't like song.
