I agree with everything you said, I like PI, but I am underwhelmed TBH ... I'm not going to lie and give in just so that people won't call me a "little chartster" ... IDGAF about charts, I give a f*ck about BOPS. And I don't like country. I'll always be a fan of Gaga; I just may not be a fan or this era. We will see what happens when Joanne is released.

If Interscope thought PI had the best chance as the lead out of all the new songs on Joanne, it doesn't spell well for more singles. I think she needs to just release the album and HEAVILY promote it and then tour. I honestly wouldn't mind getting no more singles.

I didn't even state I was in the "art industry" What are you even on about? I was talking about her artistic integrity and now you're talking about "integrity" to the fans. WTH. I'll challenge you on your point. She DID NOT hype us at all. She posted a photo on instagram that she was working with RedOne. That was hardly anything to be hyped about If you expected songs without any final announcement, that's your fault. She HAS NO obligation to release songs to spoiled fans if she didn't want to. What kind of "integrity" are you referring to? Releasing songs just to satisfy entitled brats IS NOT INTEGRITY

Well, the context of the "integrity" in my argument was the "artist integrity" to the fans. Your interpretation was art-for-artist-making-pure-art-integrity which artistic fans like you would understand, and many like me wouldn't.

About the hype she has done with RedOne, you could argue the fans and media created the hype, you could blame the fans and media for creating that. She accidentally created the hype by posting pics over pics to social media of her teaming up with RedOne again. That's your interpretation.

Billboard has written that as well just weeks ago, about the strategy of artist releasing a single right before the next grammy qualification ends, which is just right on before October of every year. Artistic person like you should have followed Billboard I guess? Or maybe Billboard is a trash to read for artistic person. I dunno.

You could argue however you want, but it doesn't change the fact that there are a huge chunk of fans getting unhappy to Gaga's direction. I wouldn't even mention GP as they have stopped caring Gaga since BTW, mostly. It's more important to understand the unhappy fans than argue as I see now.

If theres a song thats more singleworthy they would have picked it. People said the same thing about Applause and Applause turned out to have been the right choice. That doesnt mean there arent great songs on the album though. I think Bloody Mary, Heavy Metal Lover,...are great but I admit they wouldnt make good singles.

After the whole ARTPOP chaos, I doubt Gaga gives any ****s for huge mainstream success. If the team cared, they wouldn't have picked this song as a lead. 

Gaga's finally doing what she wants to do. Making the music she likes. Wearing what she wants, instead of having a manager telling her to wear weird stuff.

Calling it a buzz single might be too harsh.

However, it might be the best pop/radio friendly song on the album. That might be why her team choose it. I think that the critical acclaim will bypass charts and sales for this album. At least I hope.

tbh dont blame it all on them. i like PI so im just on the outside looking in

but gaga sold her fans on so much. and i get that people change but tbh i feel like she knows what she is doing.she stated that she thinks she knows what her fans want and.....its very obvious that there is a good majority that dont want this. so to me this is sort of her punishment to the monsters. when the critics and GP werent here for ARTPOP the monsters were so idk why perfect illusion would be about the fanbase but it is what it is.

Declaring a song as a buzz single is like disowning your own song just because it didn't do well. For some artists that's easy coz they never really worked hard on that material. But for a songwriter like gaga who put a lot of effort in making that song, it matters.

i think everything she is going to do is going to be in the size of a buzz single. she is an indie artist, am i wrong?
