Can we consider the lack of results is due to a lack of visibility (streams are good, but no Music Video yet, and barely no promo) and a song that is not "for everyone"? And still, did Gaga manage to sell only 35.000 copie less than songs that are catchier, more promoted and with a Music Video and strong Buzz ("Formation")? Am I right or I just mixed up all the informations i read here and there? Because, if the situation is indeed this one, I really don't see what's so tragic in it. Let alone of course the fact that I adore the song and I couldn't be happier that new Gaga's music has nothing to do with the 90% of Calvin Harris discography, but it concerns just me, I suppose. I have a feeling this era is just going to be music videos, radio promotion and a few TV appearances. We all know that Gaga is not going to go back to her old schedule of doing 365 things every year to promote her material so stop hoping. If anything, the MV might give it the boost to be a top 10 hit, but as for #1? It has to catch fire for it to beat the tripe that is Closer. Not trying to pick a fight, just stating my opinion, but Bad Romance was a pretty memorable song in general, not to mention a terrific dance-pop tune. From the core structure of the song, the catchy Rah-Rahs, the unique verses and the now undeniably iconic chorus, it faced little to no competition when it was released. In the end, it is just that, a pop tune, so of course you can deconstruct it and make it sound basic, but it was something that few could create at the time. Lmao actually Bad Romance is x20 more musically interesting.It has actually GOOD melodies instead of a weak monotone chorus that barely has a melody :p. Bad Romance has like 7 different hooks and they are all great,PI has hardly 3 and even those 3 are overused and weak. Bad Romance has way better vocals,way better lyrics AND production as well.
