Sylvanas 5,768
I am so sick of the meltdowns. Enough. Do you all remember this? "My injury was actually a lot worse than just a labral tear,” she says. “I had broken my hip. Nobody knew, and I haven’t even told the fans yet. But when we got all the MRIs finished before I went to surgery there were giant craters, a hole in my hip the size of a quarter, and the cartilage was just hanging out the other side of my hip. I had a tear on the inside of my joint and a huge breakage. The surgeon told me that if I had done another show I might have needed a full hip replacement. I would have been out at least a year, maybe longer.” (Source) Allow me to jog your memory of what it was like to stan Gaga in 2012/2013. She was in a wheelchair, unable to move after most shows. She was bed ridden, chronically in pain. Bruised and swollen. The media was attacking her at every chance during this era. Do you all remember, in 2012, the articles about her gaining weight? About her flopping? It never stopped. Throwing up on stage multiple times. Smoking a blunt every 15 minutes just so she could move. This entire forum seems to have this sentiment of "I miss when she was as passionate and driven as she was during the Born This Way era!" and yet you all forget its abrupt ending. None of us deserve her. She's just a human being who wanted to spread love to as many people as possible. And now, the moment that she isn't slaying the charts, and that she isn't living up to your goddamn unreachable standards you all abandon her. Can I remind you, once again, what happened when she tried to live up to the standards we all set for her? There was such a change in how she looked, how she behaved during this time. She changed so drastically in the span of months. You could SEE her health slipping away. How tired she was. How sick she was. And she did it for us. Finally, I'd like to remind you all of the last moments of the Born This Way era. Where, after irreversibly harming herself during Scheisse, she still came out to do an encore, and to say goodbye. "And if we stick together, we can get through anything. Love Gaga" I made this thread to remind some of you of all that Gaga has given us. You should all feel ashamed of your meltdowns. If you don't like the song, cool, that's fine. But seriously, stop complaining. This woman has given everything she has to this fanbase. And for some of you it still just is not enough. "Who are we, if not slaves to this torment?"
Quartz 12,535
This is so sad. I did forget about this. Damn, I take bck every bad thing I said recently about Gaga Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

Mr Judas 4,106
I almost had a heart attack cuz I didnt read the throwback tag But she is such an amazing person. I guess our love for each other will only grow. Irrespective of how any of the songs from Joanne do on the charts, she knows deep inside that the impact on her fans will be for life long. AyaKara 2,281
Don't forget that this is the beginning of the ARTPOP era; the BTWB was an afterthought once she started talking about ARTPOP in summer 2012. She was a completely different person than she was during the BTW era (late 2010-all of 2011), with the things that you posted above. I'm certain that people are referring to her passion during the BTW era itself, not the BTWB/ARTPOP era. Let's appreciate Gaga for her growth as a person, guys. She'll get going 150% soon enough, but she'll do it in a healthier way than she did before.
xdxrovied 323
there's this darkness behind all the greatest moments in the greatest careers, for example, ****ography by the cure recorded as a way to avoid suicide, homogenic and vulnicura by björk created from emotional breakdowns, blackstar by bowie recorded while he was literally dying, (III) by crystal castles while alice glass was in a toxic relationship with ethan, etc etc etc. i wish artists the best but i really enjoy them at their emotional worst. it was obvious gaga wasn't okay in the btw ball, i knew it, but i loved it. i was too young to understand completely though. anyways there's nothing i can do, i can't help her directly, i'm not some rich ass kid who follows her around the world leaving my life responsibilities and personality behind (shade intended), so i can only try to understand her and the art and get the most out of it. Ahri Under You 410
I felt so hard for her during this time. Now that I have hip problems as well and need a wheelchair and surgery myself, I feel that much closer to her and understanding her. That being said. I couldn't have even survived 5 minutes of what she did on those stages, let alone hours. She's superwoman

telephonez 20
People are so quick to forget her acheivements in 8 years, let alone in the last 9 months 😣 I can't wait to hear Joanne and I am really happy to be a fan, to have always been a fan since 2009, however even more so these days because shes producing epic music and working with incredible artists and standing for artistic integrity over sales - if she wanted to create a pop friendly song for radio she would've but she didn't, she created perfect illusion to showcase her vocal talent and stand for more than shallowness. KinneyUnderYou 0
Thank you so much for this thread. A lot of us needed to be reminded of what Gaga went through. She is an artist, and she is a human. A lot of us, unfortunately, are focused on her life, more than their own. They care about her success, and personal life more than their own. It's affecting them physically and emotionally. It's sad. But, the content you wrote in your thread reminded me of what a journey of being a Little Monster in my life changed my life. She went through a lot, and she is still going through a lot. We have no idea what is behind the curtain. Yet, all we do is complain about her chart success, promotional campaign, etc. Once again, thank you for putting your time, and effort for writing a wonderful passage for us to read.
