The truth is in her music

Music not the bling - a simple phrase wouldn't you say? Many people have doubted this phrase. It came to life during the ARTPOP era, and I truly believe that this is still alive. Really, it's simple. Just look at the music and her choices. So we have 'Perfect Illusion'. It's not the pop song that we expected to be. It's not like the songs being played on the radio, am I right? It was a risk in my opinion, and it takes time to adjust. We know that she's capable of making a simple pop song that everyone will love and whatnot. Regardless, she chose to take a different direction and experiment. Gaga wants to make music that she likes. Period.

Also, just look at the features. Two of the features that we have confirmed; "Hey Girl ft. Florence Welch" and "Sinner's Prayer ft. Father John Misty". These are not two artists that someone would go to if they wanted the numbers. I guess you could argue for Florence because she has attracted fans from her previous work, but the GP doesn't really know her well and won't immediately jump onto one of her tracks. Same said about Father John Misty. She's working with people she wants to work with, if she wanted numbers why doesn't she just collaborate with Rihanna, Drake, etc. It's not that hard to figure out. "Joanne" will contain music that Gaga wants to make, and she isn't thinking about commercial success while writing and producing.

Now calm down GGD.

Spoiler

And no I'm not addressing promotion. Just the music itself, she isn't following trends basically.

I do think that this kind of threads are getting too much  but I'm happy that most of Gaga's fans seem to be here for her and her music only, and not her chart positions. That's the way it should be.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

That's an opinion. Many would argue that she executed the song perfectly.

And what do you mean "properly execute the song"? Unless your a musician or know extensively about the music industry, how can you tell when something's "properly executed"?

The song has many flaws. Read the negative reviews if you'd like an explanation.

Don't taint Perfect Illusion or the Joanne era with anything from ARTPOP, thank you. That phrase only caught on because the era went tits up and some members needed to latch onto something redeeming about an underwhelming pop album.

Anyway, yes and no. It seems like she's got more freedom this era but let's not jinx it because the label does have the final say and nothing gets permission to be released before going through them. She'll only be able to do what she wants if it's okay with them.

Well by the looks of it no one's here for your opinions. So maybe just don't bother?

Well, you could also read the many positive reviews about the song.

The song's, imo, one of her best.

If Gaga made it through ARTPOP, I can handle a few pop forum twinks not being here for my opinions! :sharon:
