In my opinion, when ARTPOP flopped, Gaga and Interscope realized that they had to have a scandal, changing radically her personality and the image of herself, in the eye of selling like before. It's the contrary of what Miley Cyrus did. Gaga has always been a strange artist, with exagerated costumes and shoes, full of sexuality and other shits.. so now she has to be the contrary of what she was: a common, normal person. I remember when BTW came out, people thought it was so "different" from her previous stuff, and many disliked it. Now most people would agree BTW is one of her best albums. We're always afraid of change, but that's what keeps the artist interesting. I do think it's a bit ridiculous though that we're barely like 1 WEEK into the era and people are already basically predicting Gaga's doom...Wait for the album to come out, let the music speak for itself, and let the era unfold.
