So PI was definitely the most radio friendly then

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

Art pop wasn't radio friendly also, I'm just worried about how this record will define gaga!

She never really puts out albums that you can call "radio friendly". Is just that sometimes she smashes  with her edginess and sometimes she doesn't.

Commercial means the most money for them! I don't think this song should have been chosen as a single!

Sis you go on every single thread moaning and groaning about anything and everything negative this era and with this single. It's time for you to get off and enjoy life. It's clear nothing anyone says will change your stagnant opinion so I think it's best to just move on, do something else, and maybe check this site when something you like, does happen. The constant negativity coming from you and a handful of others on here is getting out of hand. Enough.

Why did she have to say this now?:madge:

Gaga girl, you don't need to justify yourself. :madge:

You don't care about the charts, remember? :neyde:

Im not too concerned, I have always liked other songs on the album better anyway, so lets just wait and see the whole album, then we'll all have our own favourites. Success inst really made on singles anymore anyway.

 who the **** are you? To question me for having an opinion? I'm a mega fan of this woman, i call worst case Scenario and I see her losing a lot of fans if this album doesn't pull threw. I mean I'm a fan regardless, I'm just overly disappointed with her right now

Venus or Gypsy would not do as good as applause, they're both amazing songs but they are rightfully album tracks. DWUW could've probably done better than applause I agree.

G.U.Y as a lead would've had a better chance to peak higher than applause. I find applause to be one of the worst songs on the album tbh, it wasn't even a single material with all the unclear references.

It's not justifing tho, she said she agreed about PI being a single and they choose it "as a team." :diane:

Anyway, does that mean that PI is the most-commercial sounding song on the album? :excited2: I'm so here for something more underground tbh

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

I feel it will have a sound of music effect with the GP. Again cant say this enought but because the club gays don't eat it up, it isn't a bad song. It shows a different sound to her. It'll win over a different demographic. Its still charting decently. And the video should help.

Seriously though I'm sure Gaga would of had some say in it, it seems to risky for interscope to chose by themselves

Actually, it would be playing it safe letting the record label alone chose the lead single. The record label would chose a song based on how well they believe it would sell, and make it the first single. An artist, however, would chose a song that they believe their fans need to hear first, which isn't always the commercially successful pick.

A good example would be "Amazing" by Madonna. Madonna's record label wanted to make it a single because they thought it would sell well after the success of "Beautiful Stranger," but Madonna thought that it sounded too much like the latter song, so she refused to cooperate in the promotion of the single.
