Sis Angela Bayo 90 Posted September 16, 2016 Share Posted September 16, 2016 So we've all heard Perfect Illusion. As a fan since "The Fame" I must say I'm disappointed. I expected something at least smarter than what we've heard. This isn't really a good rock song, a good pop song, I don't get it. I'm not saying your opinion isn't valid, it's just that Gaga wants to keep evolving. I need a winter candy apple and an iced gingerbread candle, both three-wick, or I'm boycotting. However, this part is sort of problematic. Gaga branches and does other things because she's passionate about them. I think a lot of people, particularly a lot of Little Monsters, fail to realize that Gaga's roots and what she's grown up doing wasn't performing/creating pop music. Pop music was just where she got her fame, she's demonstrated time and time again that rock and jazz are things she's very familiar with. Pop music just so happened to be the format in which her fame exploded, that's all. She and Ronson werent going after a specific sound they just did what came natural People dont like to admit it but record labels and their executives and producers are actually really intelligent with what the public likes and when they are involved good stuff comes out (unless you hate mainstream then thats different) The moment artists want more control im sorry but thats when real garbage starts to come out Gaga is more skilled than most so i dont expect garbage... But unless you like to bop to her pre-The Fame stuff better than u cant really believe shes a better song writer than the people who work for the label on this Shes great at singing and performing thats her thing.
