RAMROD 109,709
People should see which era the film were based first before anything else. The time set in AHS6 are the present time, with those security cams and smartphones shown. And people do tend to be more PC these days. So I believe that is relevant tbh. Morphine Prince 106,210
There was an interracial couple in Season 2 and a lesbian couple as well. Have these people seen all the seasons? AHS has always touched on social issues in some way. They're probably undercover racists themselves.
Nemo 4,294
"The Internet" doesn't have one opinion, on anything. "The Internet" isn't "becoming anti-PC". There's a word for people who are "anti-PC"; that word is "assholes". I didn't watch the video, but I can't help but notice that the panel is made up solely of fat white people. (See, I can say that, because I'm a fat white person myself.)

I feel like everything was very realistic to the setting the characters. I found it funny because I didn't even think about race until I saw this. When RL-Lee was talking about how he was worried about the rednecks because they were in the south and an interracial couple, I agreed completely with him because those are issues that people in interracial relationships deal with constantly. I also don't recall Lee sister bringing up race at all. Can some jog my memory? Off topic: I love your display picture.

Supersonic 49,376
I hate the term "politically correct" because it implied that being a non-judgmental, reasonable and considerate human being is a huge political statement. It should just be "correct". Also: there's certain amount of unrecognized priviliged if you get annoyed at racial inequality being brought up when you are on the one end that benefits from the inequality. Also: there's certain amount of unrecognized priviliged if you get annoyed at racial inequality being brought up when you are on the one end that benefits from the inequality. 2 I felt the same way too when I heard this. Like I said, I didn't see anything wrong with Lee's concerns about race because the setting warranted it. I felt like some white people wouldn't have the concern of race because most have never been on the receiving end. So I can understand his annoyance because he probably has never had to deal with the fear of being harassed because of the person you love. But I also find it wrong to complain about Lee feeling threatened in the south, which has a history of being racist to this day. I'm also trying to figure out when Lee's sister brought up race. As far as I know she doesn't like Shelby because she feels like Shelby is not good enough for her brother. Like @Nemo said, everyone has different opinions and the internet is not one entity. So I think a better question would be: Does Lee bring up race too often in this episode? It is not our differences that divide us. It is our inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. - Audre Lorde
Luiz 4,253
i thought hotel was too PC with part of the Liz story but this one is pretty tame so far with the PC thing i think. I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.
freebit 6,240
I don't think so. In 2016 racism/sexism and the like have not magically disappeared, so AHS continues to depict the current culture.

Gagaloo911 12,959
"Politically correct" or "PC" is one of those labels people like to throw around because it's the new trendy thing to do, but don't really know what it actually means
hELXIG 43,092
I wouldn't say politically correct. They aren't avoiding certain subjects for fear of hurting people who have had very specific things happen to them. There is social commentary though. Which I love, respect them for a lot, and think is very very important. They're bringing up real life problems in society that need to be addressed. A lot of shows are too afraid to do so because of ratings. AHS is ballsy for doing so, and I applaud them. The intent is to do exactly what you pointed out is happening, getting people to talk about and look at these situations in real life that need to be discussed and not ignored. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
aaronyoji 2,054
honestly its because they're white, they've never dealt with race issues so anyone bringing it up just irritates the fragility of white people. the "topical" things in the first episode to me, seemed more situational and not so obviously based on what times are like in 2016. it wasn't shoved in my face tbh. ask anyone of color if the show is forcing "race issues" down their throats and they'll probably say no, because its been a reality for them/their comrades 24/7. SKANK 14,288
It felt like they were dealing with racism in a topical way as it related to the story, as opposed to pushing a political agenda. So no, I don't agree that Horror Story is becoming too politically correct. I am a little surprised about the lack of fan fair Chaz Bono is getting for his performance in the season premier. Tonight at the Emmy's it was mentioned twice that Trans actors need more opportunities, and here is a trans actor portraying a cis-gender character and no one seems to care. I'll own that title. Currently listening to Joanne
