But I also want to make sure everyone understands what she was referencing with that cover... It's a nod to the classic Judas Priest 'Painkiller' album cover: This is really important for a number of reasons... - Judas Priest is the definition of the "metal" sound and aesthetic she was going for on the album - Most importantly, the lead singer of Judas Priest is a homosexual!! Which is kind of crazy considering he's a heavy metal legend from the 80's. (Born this way, baby!!) Rob Halford, the lead singer of Judas Priest, is one of Gaga's idols! He even met up with her at the San Diego artRAVE backstage: Honestly, I consider Born This Way album cover to be one of her all-time greatest.
