The song is not good, it sort of deserves this. We all knew she was probably going to disappoint on the charts after such a hiatus, and we all said her position would be mostly dependent on the quality of the music she released. Only Gaga fans (and not all) like Perfect Illusion. I have not come across one non-Gaga fan who likes the song -- it is "wack" to them.

If you have to force yourself to listen to a song over and over and over again, searching for any possible way to like the song, that is deluding yourself, and the song is probably wack. The GP judge songs in 10 seconds or less. They aren't going to consume a song they have to listen to for days in attempt to change their perspective. 

This would likely have debuted at a similar number regardless of the song quality, but the song will not have longevity because it's simply not good.

I pray Gaga pulls through with the album.

I still don't get the choice of "Perfect Illusion" as a lead single. Shouldn't you lead with your best stuff? I sincerely hope this isn't it.

Oh well, there's always next time, unless the next single somehow manages to be even less noteworthy.

Or she needs a logical promotional strategy that doesn't include a lack of performances, a video still being edited, or spending days during your first week doing no promotional spots.
