"She has rebuilt her brand as a fearless and individual powerhouse vocalist. Someone who will release what they choose to and not what is fashionable."

Fair enough. I agree with this, although I must say this is only to people who pay attention to music. Case in point, I still have several co-workers on both my jobs who think she can't sing well and my own cousins from the UK didn't know about her vocally powerful Sound of Music tribute until I showed them last month. So she still has some more building to do--especially in the pop scene where her vocals were either drowned out by her instrumentals or tampered with by autotune (on purpose or otherwise).

PI has done that, but to some people (hell, even her own fans) think she's "screaming" too much. On the other hand, people who do know she can sing think she can't translate it well to her main (pop) music.

TL;DR: I agree with your idea of her brand, my point is she still has some more building to do.

But hasn't she been for a few years now already??

I mean yes, but not in the typical pop music sense. Jazz and tribute performances have done a lot for her image but I think that was just the groundwork for what's to come. That stuff might not translate well into the pop music world. Or at least not as much as we'd hoped. She still has to prover herself the the GP as a popstar.

It's  a grower... it's gonna pull a 'Just dance' .. we need to give it time!

Just Dance was the first song of a totally unknown new artist.... of course it needed time to grow because it started from zero. Nowadays Gaga's new single is an event, and has an advantage over beginners like Gaga when she had her first song.

Don't rely too much on the UK, the sales there has been low for years.. I don't know how the UK artists are surviving..
