Bounty 776
I couldn't find a topic so I'm making one, I had heard of this band before but didn't really got into them... UNTIL they released a single for their new album which sounds a little more to the pop side, they're usually more alternative. Here's so info: Phantogram (formerly Charlie Everywhere) is an American music duo from Greenwich, New York, formed in 2007 and consisting of Josh Carter (vocals, guitars) and Sarah Barthel (vocals, keyboards). The band name was inspired by an optical illusion called a phantogram, in which two-dimensional images appear to be three-dimensional. The band define their music as dream pop, electronica and trip hop, and have described their sound as "street beat, psych pop". According to Carter, their music has "lots of rhythms, swirling guitars, spaceykeyboards, echoes, airy vocals". Carter and Barthel were inspired by artists including: the Beatles, David Bowie, Cocteau Twins, J Dilla, the Flaming Lips, John Frusciante, Serge Gainsbourg, Madlib, Sonic Youth, Yes,Kevin Shields and Prince. They write and record in a remote barn in Upstate New York called Harmony Lodge. The band has released two studio albums (Eyelid Movies in 2009, Voices in 2014), four EPs (Phantogram and Running From the Cops in 2009, Nightlife in 2011, Phantogram in 2013) and eight singles. Their new album Three comes out October 7, 2016. The first single from Three : You Don't Get Me High Anymore (it's SO GOOD) Promo single Run Run Blood (amazing as well) Other older gems by them: ENJOY! Tell me what you think! Vodka 4,478
Haven't listened to them in a while, so thanks for the update on new music! I'll check it out. What I love from their older work is the psychotic narrative and angle that their lyrics in tandem to the sound they try and convey. It really resonated with me 'Don't Move' is a personal fave. Yes, I also do love partying in moving houses as seen in that one Bacardi tv ad.

Hope you like the new songs! Tell me what you think and yeah that's a very good analysis of the lyrics, it definitely creates a connection; the lyrics and sounds. It's amazing. Run Run Blood does that for me in the new album. 5 hours ago, katykatt said: Don't move is great I think Don't Move is like their biggest song 5 hours ago, lavenderblondee said: This song was probably my biggest bop during winter 2014.
