KURUSHITOVSKA 20,451
I actually love it because the song just had a process between idea, Gagas writting, their producing, etc. And the lyrics aren't that super special and extensive like MTN or The Queen. PI is a simple song that is made wlth talent, friendships and love for the music... ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?
sillynate 6,170
Not really What kinda does bother me (but not like too much to where I'd unstan) is that she's been working on LG5 for almost 2 years, and if I'm not mistaken, PI was one of the last songs she recorded... but it's the first song released. That's like if I'm cooking a big thanksgiving meal for my family and I make the mash taters last and decide to serve that to everyone first. They smell the turkey and the stuffing and the corn and the purple jiggly stuff all day and get mash taters first... But like I said, it's not something I'm really upset or disappointed about. No. That comparison just doesn't work. Nice try though! Currently listening to Joanne
later 135
I don't know, because I obviously wasn't there....but this comes across as probably one of her most hands-on endeavors, in the sense that she created the piece within the framework of a band. And the piece was made the way that most bands create music, which is collectively. And that is probably what she wanted and craved, most likely due to the creative method that she immersed herself in during C2C, travelling and performing with a jazz ensemble. It's music: there's nothing more beautiful and satisfying than performing in an ensemble and hearing ideas bounce back and forth in a living breathing process. It's organic. And this is why the production is most likely stripped down as much as her label would allow: in order to show that process. Also, kind of off topic: but the beginning of the song, to me, always sounds like it's most likely a continuation of a previous song (on the album). It has that carry-over quality. Maybe that could be a new thread OMG.

All the Zedd tracks were pretty much fully formed and she just wrote over them. She said DJWS sent her a load of beats too so it wouldn't surprise me if the majority of AP was done this way. This album process seems much more involved and done from scratch. yeah I meant that Venus wasn't 100% her idea as there is the Zombie Zombie sample. I agree with DJWS sending her the beats and she just writing over them. I believe Gypsy was the same way, her and RedOne exchanging emailswith beats and ideas. Kindness rules all. Bradley 59,171
Written by: Lady Gaga, Kevin Parker, Mark Ronson, Bloodpop Produced by: Lady Gaga, Kevin Parker, Mark Ronson, Bloodpop so because Kevin Parker was the one who gave his idea to Gaga we decided to take all credit away from Gaga? She claimed the idea began from Kevin Parker's mind, yet she twisted it to her own words of "modern ecstasy". It's basically like your friend giving you an idea of a concept he wrote; You transform his concept to lyrics into your own style to fit your personality as a songwriter. I am a songwriter myself, so I can relate. You needed to say that didn't you?! I didn't ask for a free ride, I only asked you to show me a real good time. RadioIsOurs 13,876
I was more bothered that she wrote it on a typewriter, only for sloppier lyrics to come out...

nativenewyorker 1,190
I just had this conversation with my friend last night. It just makes me think that Perfect Illusion is not necessarily indicative of how the rest of the album is going to sound. Kevin had a basis for the song and Gaga built Perfect Illusion out of that. I'm more excited to see the songs that she created on her own, then brought the ideas to Mark and worked on them with him.
Vienoire 161
Gaga is given the only idea that the song may be about 'an illusion'. She turned this on her own life and made something originally brilliant that's linked with her celebrity period, music industry and something about every kind of fakeness. And Gaga was a person who suggests collective consciousness all the time.
