Idk how they can go from having sex on a magazine cover to being best friends. :poot:

She has always called him her best friend. She said that the best thing about their relationship IS (not was) that he IS her lover and best friend.

Bad Bromance

If this song is about Taylor Kinney, which I really think it is, Gaga is not going to divulge anything given that the announcement that they're taking a break is fairly recent.  I truly hope they get back together, though.  They make the cutest couple, tbh.   :flutter:

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

I just listened to the interview and yeah, she made it clear that it isn't a hit on him, but she never really specified that it wasn't ABOUT him. She even said it could be about feelings HE had. Not a hit on him and not about him are two entirely different things. :emma:

she explicitly said that it's not about taylor. now everyone can shut the fünk up. if anything, it's about you—you drama-loving "fans." :poot:

if you hurt taylor swift, i'll hurt you back

If it were abouy him it would be against him becauses it is saying that he tricked her into believing something that wasnt real ( caught up your show, at least now I know it wasnt love)

I know the lyrics can be interpreted anyway but she said the song is about how you're in this ecstasy for so long and then suddenly you're not/realize it wasn't what you thought it was. I interpret the song in a bit of different ways, because I really relate to it. You can be in love with someone for years and years and one day you wake up and you look at them a different way or something just changes. In this interview she made it known too that they're not completely done for, so I stick to this theory. You can still write a "break up" song and not have it be a song bashing someone. It's not like she said anything nasty about Taylor in the song, so it definitely isn't a hit on him, but it can still be a glimpse into how she/he feels. From what we've heard, they've been having breaks off and on for over a year now. So, it's no surprise.

I  be late for this party, but I never got their relationship out of the song. A different kind  "love"...

Am I the only one who hears sort of a farewell to the person David Bowie opposed to the iconic persona? (Or is this a whole series of threads I've missed the few hours I'm not on :cryga:

Just with how most "blow" references she always discusses it as a parallel to his journey (Major Tom, the "party" side of it)..

She grew up listening to him preach love and pride and empowering artistry but I feel as a person he never seemed enthralled by Gaga.. She always thought it was love but that empty love was just a hollow promise to the audience, a PERFECT ILLUSION. But it was exactly what she needed to find in herself, and growing up, that love compelled her and empowered her to find that validation in herself.

Or I could be reading way too far into it, because she's never one to be cryptic at all ever with lyrics phrases or sneaky tricks :lolga:
