lavenderblondee 3,695
I LOVE that the whole episode felt kind of like "What is happening? What is the ACTUAL plot of the show?" Because surely it couldn't of just been a full season of random things happening to them. Then the last scene hits and it's like YES BITCH YES I really understand that AHS was almost becoming known for it being a campy "horror" show that wasn't really horror, but I'm glad it went back to it's roots in a way. Even though I felt like some scenes were carbon copy cut outs of Murder House, ex: "We have our funds tied in this house, we can't leave!" etc. I loved it. I've been watching AHS since the day it aired and s1 had me SHOOK. I was spooked to watch the show in an empty house and then to go to bed afterwards. I hadn't really felt that way at all since then. This episode brought back that ominous creepy vibe and I lived for it. I think what made AHS s1 so great was the characters and actors portraying them, and I know that can't be replicated, but I'm glad they at least brought back that creepy factor to it. At this point, the show could go anywhere, and I'm very excited for it and cautiously optimistic. My only gripe is that I hope that it slows down a bit on the narrative part. My opinion was that having them narrate almost every single thing that happened was a bit annoying. It was to be expected given it's a "doc" thing, but still didn't mean I liked it popping up so frequently. I'm excited for the sneak peek.

Asylum was better than Murder House imo but anyway I believe this season has GREAT characters and the actors portraying them are so talented. I have to agree that Roanoke is so much more creepier than previous seasons, like it's almost unsettling and disconcerting, and this description can't be used for Coven or Hotel (which is my favourite season actually, because of its overall style, ambience, philosophical concepts and acting, it's just very intriguing to me and I was very amazed by Gaga's acting in some episodes like Flicker, She Gets Revenge, Battle Royale, etc.). But if Roanoke Nightmare goes at this pace, I believe it will replace Hotel as my favourite season. Like others have said, the cinematography is outstanding. This season stands such a better chance at winning Emmys, it's reminiscent of Asylum and Murder House, really. Sarah being vulnerable and frightened was very convincing and infectious, she makes it very easy for the audience to relate with her fear. Then Angela's bitchy and dubious attitude and her uneasy relationship with Sarah is just another thing to applaud for. Cuba was equally good in trying to hide his fear but obviously he was just as vigilant as his wife is. And we have yet to see Denis, Gaga and Kathy's acting! This season is going to be so good, I can't.
Bradley 59,150
Who was the man in the home movie? Cheyenne Jackson or Denis O'Hare? I can't believe they let Cheyenne Jackson have a bigger role than Gaga, Matt and Finn. With Gaga maybe it's because of her new album but Matt and Finn should have a bigger role than Cheyenne. I'm open for Cheyenne to amaze me this time though.
RAMROD 109,618
It's very satisfying. The suspense are really good this time. It really grabs you and suck you in. I think it is Matt Bomer in the video, just a guess ^^ Though I liked the fact it focus on less character, I feel like Gaga's character will be big

Like you don't need to include ALL the actors in one single episode, just use a few but give them enough room to shine. In Flicker from Hotel we didn't get to see a lot of Sarah Paulson or Kathy Bates but Gaga and Finn Wittrock were awesome in that episode.
