Benji 20,113
I wouldn't say she's trying to make rock music or be a rock artist, personally. I'd say the current direction is inspired by the genre for some of it's sound and aesthetic but I don't think anyone believes it's actual rock music. I would love for her to really go for it and let go of pop for at least one album but it's not going to happen.

HOTNebraskaGuy 19,547
Gaga is 100% a rockstar. Try comparing her to pop artists like Britney, Ariana, etc. Incomparable. And multiple rock legends have stated how much of one she is, I don't think you have much credibility to your name, unless you're secretly Ace Frehley or something. Now the song itself isn't rock, at least not as much as I'd like it to be. It's still labeled pop because at least 50% of it is pop. There are obvious rock influences in there, probably more than she's ever released before. I'm sure we'll get more rock based songs on LG5 though. Uh oh guys the music police is here apperanly you can never do rock music if you never struggled as bad as they did in the 70's.
