Gaga will not get away with being something she is not

As a 40-year-old, you should know better than to make a thread like this.

First, you saying it's not a negativity thread is a lot like someone saying "no offense" before saying something shitty and offensive.

Second, okay. You're just complaining. Does you airing your grievances instigate any productive conversation? Does it open the floor for an important discussion? Does it even give any particularly good insights into the music? Right, none of the above. This is an incendiary post, nothing more.

Also "she can't get away with rock because she's not a rock artist" is a tautology. It's literally a logical fallacy. If you want to have an actual discussion, have some actual arguments.

Gaga is not pretending to be a rockstar and you and all others won't tell her how she is allowed to be and that she can't do something. People like you telling someone what they can and can not do piss me off more than almost anything, always trying to hold others down while it has absolutely nothing to do with what you like or do not like, stop living your life through what others are doing, most especially if you aren't even enjoying what they are doing. In short, get your own life. You won't stop Gaga and neither will anyone else.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

PI is rock like I'm A Rockstar was rock for Rihanna. Get a grip, its pop with a bit of a rock influence. This is like saying Madonna was not being original wearing Spanish garb and having a heavily influenced flamenco style song in La Isla Bonita. Fakery everywhere, lol.

Gaga literally put the rock back into Pop/rock section that was in all record stores.

OP is just not as open minded I think and it may be due to the generation gap.

It reminds me of my parents really with all the, 'In my days we didn't have this, we didn't have that, and it we were better than young people now' spiel. Let him be with his comment even with how insensitive it can be. He is obviously comparing Gaga to his OWN definition of a rockstar, which imho is a few decades dated. And as I learned from my parents, they just won't budge at certain things even if you rationalize with them. I am guessing we might be the same if 10 years from now some new upstart artist is trying to be the new GAGA.

People change, definitions change, technology improves and as such, people move forward. Gaga can be whatever she wants to be. She can speak german if she wants to, she can call a song heavy metal lover even if it is not Heavy metal. Please do not limit her to your definitions and to what you think she should or should not do.

you probably should worry more about your phone exploding than a pop star doing whatever she wants, androiduser.

Nah, it's really not that involved. Pop stars definitely get away with being fake. Most people aren't thinking that deeply about it though, they just like a catchy song.

I use android too but damn this was a sick burn

OT: If you think PI is rock then whew, you have some reevaluations to do on the definition of rock. It's rock influenced, but even Electric Chapel and You and I is more rock influenced than PI. PI, as people have described it, is a dance song. It's more disco influenced than rock actually, with the soaring high vocals, the synths, and the adrenaline beat of the song. You may think it's rock because of all the rage and weight in it, (and because of the guitar) but it's just as rock-tinged (if not less) as MANiCURE.

You can make believe with your wrong opinion.

I am 32 and also listening all kinds of genres in any language and I believe Gaga can do anything she wants.

Your elitism is irrelevant in this day and age. Get with the time.

I'm just gonna leave this here. I know you're the absolute authority when it comes to rock music but maybe you should contact those posers from Kiss, cause they've been saying the exact opposite of what you're saying.

and Gaga NEVER said PI is a rock song. When talking about how the reviews and the GP were defyining the song and rock/soul/etc she actually said that that's not at all how she and mark see the song.

a lot of rock, mainly classic rock that is often referenced, is literally just as basic in chord progressions and melodies as pop music, i mean rock was once considered pop. its not really that different.

sure there are particular rock artists that are better than most pop, but as a genre, rock isn't really more profoundly "deep" musically than other genres, don't fool urself with this "she's a poser because she says she's a rocker, if she where a rocker she wouldn't have to say it" middle school non sense. like gtfo....
