Perfect Illusion is NOT a hit

Perfect Illusion is not a hit nor it will be one. There will be the skepticals who will say: "But the promo hasn't even begun!!1" but the truth is... a hit song these days is in the hands of the radio. The power is in radio.

It's safe to say that the majority of the fanbase were disappointed by it on the first listen. If you take into account people who do not feel the need to force themselves to like a Gaga song (call them the "GP" if you wish) and the fact that this song is not suited for radio (there is no point in lying. It's nothing radio plays and it's certainly not going to change)- Perfect Illusion will simply not be a hit.

Alot of the fans and public just wanted the old Gaga dance-pop music back and if you take your time to moderate social media, YouTube reactions and so on- you'll notice it easily. 

I really hope that we begin this era with a clear understanding that Gaga is no longer a relevant commercial artist. She had her chance with this new single but as she well mentioned, making hit records is not her approach anymore. 

If you're up for an authentic, stripped down and personal era from Gaga, then this era will be for you. 

There is no point in forcing ourselves to like a song we don't like and there is no point in denying the fact that Gaga is not what she used to be in terms of success and that's mostly because she just doesn't want to.

Yeah I agree. I also think she's lost her ear for what makes a hit. The fact that they actually picked this mess of a song as a lead single from a 3 year break is a testament to her poor acumen. I've given up hope now seeing ****ing Meghan Trainor's songs being more successful than Lady Gaga's ****ing music.

You can't judge a song if it is a hit or not within three days.

I can't wait for everyone to crawl back when the song reaches the Top 3. They always said that ARTPOP exposed the fake fans. LG5 era is already exposing the fans who are really just focused on bringing Gaga down with her work, and not believing in it. So shut the **** up with all these threads. I am tired. I feel sorry for people who stan for artists that don't have longevity. Even if she doesn't hit high on the charts anymore, she will always be in people's hearts and minds. What kind of meaningful impact does the majority of pop songs on the radio have on people these days anyways?
