YES! This is what I've been saying for a while, too. If Gaga really, really, really wanted so much commercial success as before, then she would have released something by now. Obviously, she wants commercial success. She obviously wants to do well, but not at the expense of her artistry.

Honestly though, I'm glad. Just by this single alone, I think it's better than most of her other songs. I really feel like she's hearkening back to "when she was Stefani" and really trying to bring some of "Stefani" into "Gaga". 

Plus, if she wanted to be so commercially successful, then she wouldn't have released C2C. That's a huge indicator about her feelings about the charts. C2C was an opportunity to really express herself in a way, where, like how I feel about LG5, is a way of working backwards and really trying to figure out who she is.

Because her actions speak otherwise? Remember when Applause released and she had a contest of seeing how many Applause iTunes receipts could be tweeted at her? The meltdowns at how people compared her commercially to others? The radio tour she's currently on? Like, girl wants a hit, it might not be the most important thing but she like them.

As for Gaga, I'm sure she could have easily had an album produced entirely by RedOne. She's not interested in that, and I personally do not care for retreads.

This doesn't contradict what I said though. I did say she wants hits and to be successful. It just that she works hard to make her own vision successful, not somebody else's or what is trendy. If she was only making music for the hits than she would have already work with DJ Snake, Max Martin, Calvin Harris, a collaboration with the Chainsmokers, Drake, Rihanna, ect.

She did none of that in her past and still got hits.

That is why I said is rare when something unique and creative is successful. Gaga was one of those rare artists that manage to do this. She managed to make her own sound and visions popular. But at the same time her albums and songs have always struggled on the charts. Even the ones that eventually did become hits.

Some people act like mainstream is somehow bad. But how? If more people like it then theres a reason for it.

She had two full albums and an EP of nothing but top 10 hits. Marry the Night was her first song to not hit top 10, it wasn't a rare thing for her.

That is because people had already latched on to her from the TF days. But she said that she had to beg radio station to play music from TF album.  But if you pay attention, her music has always been very unique to her. She never truly sounds like anything that is popular at the time her music releases.

What is the one thing that makes Gaga, Gaga? She doesn't follow trends, she takes risks, she has a powerful voice, stands up for what she believes in, fights for equality, preaches kindness and is a great role model. She does what makes her happy, i.e make music, sings live, and an actress.

She should not have to change because people don't respect her and what she is doing (creating music as that is what makes her happy.) She should not have to change to keep up with the current trend (She has never done so, so why now?) She should not have to change because her charts is poor. She should KEEP GOING as this is what makes her happy, and 'fans' should respect that no matter what. 

I personally love Perfect Illusion, it really grew on me! I cannot wait till this album is released, it will slay the world over!!! I'm so here for Lady Gaga right now, can't wait to see the direction she is going with this new album! Spread kindness on GGD, not hate! She is an amazing person, and I'm with her all the way! LOVE YOU GAGA!!!!
