Quoting @Spyro from the thread linked below... "In comparison, Applause (audio) had about 1.5 million views the first day, then 4.5 million the next, then dropped incredibly after that." Just wanted to clarify that the drop in views for Applause after the 2nd day was most likely due to the release of the lyric video, which was 2 days after the audio only upload. Yes, but... by this point, Applause had the lyric video, which likely caused a huge slow down in the views for the Applause audio. So it's not an apples-to-apples comparison. PI has about 1/3 of the views, and that's only in the first three days! However, she did drop a lyric video, and as you've stated, that could have contributed to Applause's views. Even then, combining both the lyric and the audio videos, they amount to 39M views. PI's still doing incredibly well, having about 1/4 of the views right now. Very true! but......... Spotify was also in its infancy back then. So YouTube streams were the primary way to hear new music without paying for the single download. Whereas now, Spotify is the dominant force in streaming. So it probably balances out. Hahahaha... we could prob keep going like this for hours! Maybe we will, LOL. That was only around the second day and it dropped to more than half of that. So it's still possible PI is doing better or as well as Applause. =) PI added about a million more views since midnight so far and it's only 3pm.
