So the lyrics in the first verse state "Stuck in the middle zone" 

So i was doing some research to see what she could mean by that and I found this:

There are three Zones of Awareness according to Gestalt Psychology...the Outer Zone, Middle Zone, and Inner Zone. We can get stuck in any one of these zones. It's best to be able to move choicefully from one zone to another in order to develop self-awareness.

The Middle Zone

Experiences in the middle zone represent the “intangible” and lies between the outer- and inner zones. You could also say that they take place in the head as they reside in the higher cerebral centers. They consist of thoughts, conclusions, interpretations, fantasies (also catastrophic fantasies and so called uncertain future anxiety), dreams (waking and sleeping), memories, inspiration to create and construct, etc.

This makes a lot of sense. “I still feel the blow but at least now I know..." is a lyric meaning relialization. The whole “middle zone" idea elevates a new meaning to the song. Does Gaga want to escape her thoughts and focus on reality? Gaga has interpreted that conclusion since Born This Way in my opinion.

I live half way between reality and fantasy at all times.

one of the reasons why i love and am sad that princess high/stache didn't make it to ARTPOP is the jean-paul sartre reference. the koons one in applause and the orwell one in sexxx dreams made up for it, tho. now this one: genius. her intelligence and cultural awareness are beyond.
