Why PI Success Doesn't Affect Gaga's

I've seen some negative things on here about PI, honestly more on here than anywhere else on the internet.

- How people don't like it

- How its sales are beginning to decline

But I just wanted to let you guys realize that MANY popular artists have had lead singles underperform and then have had AMAZING second/third single success and eras. Therefore, the success of this song is not mutually exclusive to the success of Gaga's career. Let's take a look:

Christina Aguilera - Stripped

Lead Single: Dirrty (peak position: #48)

Second Single: Beautiful (peak position: #2)

Britney Spears - In The Zone

Lead Single: Me Against The Music (peak position: #35)

Second Single: Toxic (peak position: #9)

Mariah Carey - The Emancipation of Mimi

Lead Single: It's Like That (peak position: #16)

Second Single: We Belong Together (peak position: #1)

Gwen Stefani - Love.Angel.Music.Baby

Lead Single: What You Waiting For (peak position: #47)

Second Single: Rich Girl (peak position: #7)

Madonna - Madonna

Lead Single: Holiday (peak position: #16)

Second Single: Lucky Star (peak position: #4)

Justin Timberlake - Justified

Lead Single: Like I Love You (peak position: #11)

Second Single: Cry Me A River (peak position: #3)

Rihanna's Rated R era

Lead Single:

Russian Roulette (2009/2010) *1 week in Top 10*
1st Week: #100
2nd Week: #75
3rd Week: #9 - PEAK POSITION
4th Week: #16
5th Week: #19
6th Week: #22
7th Week: #30
8th Week: #44
9th Week: #53
10th Week: #43
11th Week: #59
12th Week: #76
13th Week: #90
14th Week: #100
(knocked out)

and then Rude Boy went #1

And even Beyonce experienced this with B'Day:

First single:

Deja Vu
1st Week: #44
2nd Week: #37
3rd Week: #33
4th Week: #34
5th Week: #30
6th Week: #32
7th Week: #4 - PEAK POSITION
8th Week: #6
9th Week: #12
10th Week: #15
11th Week: #22
12th Week: #29
13th Week: #31
14th Week: #42
15th Week: #57
16th Week: #82
17th Week: #99
(knocked out)

and then Ring the Alarm came out and did worse. And then Irreplaceable come and ROCKETED to #1.

BUT PERFECT ILLUSION IS STILL SLAYING SO WERE NOT EVEN AT THAT STEP YET.

Yeah ofc if the first one doesn't do well 2rd, 3rd or even 4th can. But it's been 1 day guys so we have no idea if PI will be a big hit or not yet. It looks more promising then it did with applause atleast.

Thank you for all this solid receipts!

And we've barely had this single for a good day and a half so let's stop being impatient!

Always remember PF was a sleeper hit girls

Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.

Gaga is in love with what she have done. I think LG5 is about ”don't care if the song is #1 , I want to be proud of my work ”

i'm a powerpuff girl. ○●

Let's be honest, Gaga to maintain her SUPER STAR state NEEDS  a commercial success since she hasn't a real one since 2011 i guess

She's so happy, didn't y'all see how happy she was yesterday??!! and then the Little Delusionals come and say **** about it bc they only want the same thing over and over, they are still waiting for music like TFM, just go away and listen to a basic.

Anyway, I don't think we can use these examples, music industry is very different now, you seriously can't know what song is going to be smash anymore....

another shot before we kiss the other side

But she doesn't need to maintain her super star status. She's doing this and creating new music because she wants to. If she was really desperate to maintain her "super star" status, then she would have released an album a long time ago, and probably wouldn't have released C2C. She has more than enough money to maintain a living, she just wants to create new and exciting music.

PI can still turn into a hit. It's a question whether radio will get on board because so far it doesn't seem like it but that could change.

She only released C2C to fix her image and show off her "talent" to the GP. Not else.

Well I think that's because only iHeartRadio stations have it until Monday, then every other radio station will have it, and I'm hoping Bobby and Gaga have hooked them too, not just iHeartRadio. But we shall see in the coming week! I honestly think it'll do pretty well, I mean it shot to number 1 on iTunes, and number 2 isn't even bad either. The audio on YouTube keeps climbing very quickly too.

Yeah the youtube + spotify numbers are decent so I'm hopeful. A top 15 debut would be nice.

Ya, despite of all bitching here, just believe that she don't care with any of them, she said it on radio interview yesterday implicitly.

"I'd like to stay in contact with the fans and I wanna see how they're doing, and enjoying the music and pick up on.little artistic nuances.., but I'm just in different place in my life, I don't allow things that are negative to run everything. I think it's important yo just to try to stay grounded in who you are and the things that come your way, just be grateful for them."

In short, she was trying to say "IDGAF if you hate it, this is my art! Try to be respectful and grateful about it, please!"
