She's passionate, committed, and she is always striving for something more, so for me she is always worth following. If you are that put off by this song, then maybe you should just sit this one out? I basically ignored most of the BTW era aside from the album itself because her aesthetic and performances didn't appeal to me at that time. It's possible to admire an artist, but not be 100% on-board with everything they do. You can still stan her previous work, or maybe you will start feeling her new era later. Maybe you don't and that's okay too! Just like OP said, we love Gaga because of her "big pop hits" and then she did jazz music (which I found very boring, not my kind of thing - but still I support because I love her) and now a disco rock song whatever (still for me Perfect Illusion is just a rock song, can't see where's the disco in it... her voice is strong but I don't know.. too much screaming imo and sometimes it doesn't sound like her) the little monsters here all acting like "Yeah.. it was so gooooood", "Better than Bad Romance", "OMG perfect song ever" - even if she released a FARTsound for the next single you guys will said it's a masterpiece - and got the guts to call other pop divas in the industry "generic" but generic or not, I think it's better if you stick to your genre even when you want to grow as an artist, you better know why people loves you in the first place. In my opinion, Gaga still finding her identity and herself. It's like we were stanning for another person every era. I can't see Gaga at all in Perfect Illusion. I believe most of y'all here will jump the ship once she fail to deliver after this if you're not delusional at all. See ARTPOP? See Born This Way?
