Fiona Apple 13,006 Posted September 9, 2016 Share Posted September 9, 2016 So Gaga won our hearts with the big hit pop singles that actually had PERSONALITY,great melodies and creative lyrics,her unique and amazing style,her incredible and fun personality,her great voice etc. It all started with The Fame a great dance pop album,the TFM came which was even better,then BTW came which was EVEN better (at least imo),then it was ARTPOP that was a lot messier than her previous album but still be a Gaga album.She was undeniably worth stanning at least until 2013. Then C2C came in 2014,many fans didn't like it but ACCEPTED it because they thought that it would fix her image for the next pop era (and yeah many people liked it)... Then TIHTY also received a mix response from the fanbase with most of the fanbase critisizing the vocals and the boring style of the song.But we accepted this as well because yeah it was a personal song,and it got her huge nominations etc. But even since 2014 all we ACTUALLY wanted was LG5,new GAGA music.Does that mean that she had to go back to the big pop singles and score #1 on the charts? No .Does that mean that she should wear another meat dress or go naked on stage? No. What it means is that we wanted to see Lady Gaga releasing ACTUALLY good music just as good as her early music.(no matter how commercial it is or not). Then Gaga released Perfect Illusion. As I stated in my previous review,I don't believe that Perfect Illusion is a bad song at all.Despite being repetitive,and lacking a strong melody in the chorus,it's really a good song that showcases her vocals.. But let's be honest. Is that song WORTH 3 years of waiting for GAGA (the woman that gave us some of the greatest and creative songs) to return? I personally don't think so. I can name at least 50 songs in the last 2 years that are better than PI (singles or album tracks).Would you ever care about the song if it wasn't Gaga's new single? Now that I really lost the hype of the GAGA single,I believe that objectively it's just a cute? song.It has no really interesting melody or lyrics,it has no actual personality in the lyrics (at least not Gaga's personality).The only Gaga thing about the track is the vocals. That's not enough for me... I am still waiting for the album with hope and some low-key excitement though and I really hope she proves me wrong. I did NOT make this thread to spread negativity.Everyone that uses the site knows how positive I was earlier towards the single. I am just trying to be real. And it hasn't been three years sweet cheeks, it's been like a year since TILL IT HAPPENS TO YOU. And less than 2 years since CHEEK TO CHEEK. I have not felt the desire to leave the "show" after all these years. It's still entertaining me and keeping my attention glued. The new song included. Every era adds fans and subtracts them. In Perfect Illusion, Gaga screams and sings the "repetitive" lyrics in a very ragey way which makes the song very "alive". It's a genuinely amazing song. But if you don't think it was worth the wait and not worth stanning for her no one here is forcing you to stay. You know where to sign out. Lose control. Let go and fall. Do you get the satisfaction?
