bambi96 1,555 Posted September 9, 2016 Share Posted September 9, 2016 I'm reading throughout reviews, (such as this one here) that although the song is phenomenal; there just isn't the peak which they desire; I have to argue with this; and not because I'm a 'stan'. Very few songs, such as this one, make me feel as if the whole song is a peak, an adrenaline rush to be experienced even in the dullest of moods. It's a great pick-me-up. I appreciate the artistry which has gone into the production and take on, of this song. A lot of people are pointing out the length; I very much think the song was once 3-5 minutes long, however they would have tried everything they could to make it reach its full potential; and I guess this is it; 2:59! I guess the overall message I'm trying to say is, we've spent 3 years waiting for a triumphant return; and we've finally got one, she's getting praised left, right and centre (apart from the guardian Britney stans) and now it's us, the 'Little Monsters' who are bashing her. I listened to it during its debut on my crappy laptop speakers; feeling underwhelmed. I went back to sleep at 4am, woke up and listened to it again; being completely blown away. One of the producers commented that the entire song sounds like one verse or one chorus, which enhanced the adrenaline rush, imo. Pretty much the same here. I was underwhelmed when I heard it on my iPhone's speakers last night, but on the way to class this morning I blasted it and it was literally euphoric.
