TropicOfCANCER 6,292
honestly you guys, the critics aren't "eating this up" or "PRAISING" her...the reviews are pretty lukewarm, and if we're being even more honest, i think alot of the positivity comes from the fact that she worked with respected musicians. NewYorkCity 10,536
Yall think about what the gp thinks from what you read on Twitter And YouTube And no. This song is being prasied. Those on Twitter saying: it is too repetitive, probably finger themselves with This is What you came for.

TropicOfCANCER 6,292
Just now, Evan Peters said: Nobody asked right, and i wasn't answering anybody either. the fans on this forum are misinterpreting critics mildly positive reviews for "CRITICAL ACCLAIM" when it simply isn't the same. I don't hate the song, but i also don't LOVE it either, and i think that's the general consensus, aside from the few people who genuinely love it. androiduser 7,438
but if they were wrong before when they gave her bad reviews, it must mean they are wrong again, and the song is not good
lavenderblondee 3,695
i actually like the "It's not bad Romance (but what is?') part. We need to move on from that. BR has/will probably go down as one of the best pop songs of the decade/best Gaga song of all time in the media, but it's time we mooove on.

Formidable does not mean lukewarm, it means intense and powerful. This review is acclaim. Stop trying to rain on our parade, we've waited 3 years for her to make her comeback and a handful of users are trying so desperately to make everyone dislike the song or put it down. She's being praised. Period. Some """"fans"""" like you are the ones who are really spreading negativity. Enough is enough. If you don't like the song good for you. I personally love it. Pure Gaga. JoeJane 2,333
The song, too, reflects that stance. Some have speculated that her break from fiancé Taylor Kinney earlier this year might leave her fifth album open to vulnerable, fragile songs. 'Perfect Illusion' blasts that notion away in an instant. "It wasn't love, it wasn't love/It was a perfect illusion," she sings on its instantly catchy chorus, sounding at once powerful and totally fine with the situation that's unfurled. Mark Ronson, Tame Impala's Kevin Parker and BloodPop (fka Blood Diamond, he who produced Justin Bieber's 'Sorry') were in the studio with Gaga for this cut. You can hear subtle elements of Tame's sound creeping in via hazy synth swathes that could have been transplanted from 'Currents', but for the most part the track is all about Gaga. It's no 'Bad Romance' (what is?), but its booming disco influence and sheer force make it a formidable return from one of pop's most exciting stars.
