FFXSoul91 1,098
The bridge is amazing though. I need more songs like that.
Morphine Prince 105,800
Opposite for me. I LOVED it at the very first listen and it just keeps getting better. vs. a song like Applause where it took me like 4 listens to REALLY get into it. Eddie 2,518
It's ok...it's your opinion and your taste. No one has the same taste, so I'm not expecting everyone to like Perfect Illusion. But I love it What if tomorrow I see you again? Should I say that I used to love you?

YAAAAASSSSSSS at the first listen from the stream in shhhhhhhhhh quality I was like OMG I'm not sure, but then they played it once again and..... OMG.. What a what? It slayed me so much! With every Gaga's single I've been searching for the rock interpretation... I think that I may have a little rock soul inside my body tho... Bloody hooker 6,445
When the reviews/teasing started pouring in after Gaga let certain people hear it and said it was a "dance-pop" track, I was expecting dance-pop. After hearing that 10 second LQ snippet of the pre-chorus, I got the feeling of dance-pop. When I finally heard the song, I was caught off guard expecting dance-pop. I wasn't completely in love with it until the epic key change. But after probably near 100 plays already and over two hours of listening, I'm in love with it. I'm singing, dancing, and holding my own private concert in my bedroom by myself. 10/10 This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare. ck105 178
My initial impression: Decent song although it's no "Bad Romance" or "Poker Face". It may grow on me as I listen more.
ryhanna 3,507
Loved it right away. Gave me the same feeling of instant love that I got from Bad Romance and Born This Way. Applause, I didn't like right away and still only listen to on occasion. I'm so thrilled with PI. The only thing I don't particularly like about it is how repetitive "It wasn't love" is in the chorus, but even that is made up for by the vocals, high energy and how catchy the line is. Would have been cool to have an extra line in there tho
Eighteen 5,430
tbh all of gaga's lead songs (that i remember - BTW, applause) needed time to grow on me. it's hard for me to tell how this will do with the GP. i didn't care for the weekend but the radio shoving it down my throat made me like it. Hence your lack of interest for the song. Simple as that Just trying to assess what kind of statistic you were forcing me into, I mean you don't me ! Especially when I said in the OP that I've loved every Gaga lead when I first heard them & they were all released w/o visuals and know you're just completely ignoring the fact that you made that statement. She isn't being tasked with laying waste to the pop music scene anymore, she's just making cool music that she likes. As she gets older and as we as fans age with her, we have to adjust our expectations. We shouldn't expect to be reborn every album. We should expect to get a deeper, more honest look into who she is as a human bean/artist. Honestly, it's so much more enjoyable when you're just in it for fun. E.g.: this song is ****ing fun to listen to, therefore I'm happy.

That inevitably happens with any musician/band. It's one of those damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't things. She should still try to lay waste to the pop scene so she doesn't get complacent. Yes, we do have to adjust our expectations as she and we age. I know she's not going to release a masterpiece every time out. I'm sure she'll continue to let us into her mind and heart with her newest songs as she has with her oldest ones.
JanPianoMusic 730
I really like it, because 1/ her voice sounds real; it doesn't sound too edited 2/ it doesn't have a traditional verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus structure 3/ it has actual, good lyrics! I feel like many songs on the radio these days have a few basic lyrics and a long instrumental section 4/ that key change is something we haven't seen in a while and that shows her vocal power (I am confident she will do fine live) I understand why some people don't like it, because 1/ it is quite repetitive 2/ it can become rather shouty You will never please everyone.
